The commercial took two and a half days to shoot, with the remaining half day reserved for the interview.
The last scene they had just filmed was the pearl's rebirth. Yan Feizhuo and Sheng Nian were still dressed as merfolk, their two figures, one deep blue and the other platinum, sitting before the camera.
The first segment was a little compatibility game-Speaking in Unison. The host, hidden behind the camera, would give them a prompt, such as their favorite season. Yan Feizhuo and Sheng Nian had to chant the keyword "season" twice together, then give their answers at the same time to test their rapport.
The host looked at his cue cards and gave the first prompt. "Favorite fruit."
Yan Feizhuo and Sheng Nian said together, "Fruit, fruit..."
"Cherries!"
"Very good! One point," the host praised.
"Next prompt-what food could you never get tired of?"
"Food, food..."
"Cheese-baked lobster!"
Watching the two give matching answers to every prompt, the host was secretly astonished. Is there really nothing going on between these two?
Kari and Yan Feizhuo had actually both reviewed the interview outline, so there would be no sensitive or deliberately difficult questions. However, Sheng Nian was not good at handling interviews, so most of his answers were fairly superficial. At such moments, Yan Feizhuo proved much more talkative, picking up the thread and steering the conversation.
The host began his questions. "You both did very well on the dating show, and many viewers loved your interactions. Could you tell us how you felt during the show, or what sort of mindset you were in? Are there any particularly memorable experiences you could share with us?"
