Yan Zhen glared at him, his face full of fury, as though he had slaughtered his entire family.

"You thought I wouldn't find you if you hid?"

Yan Ningke looked at him as though he were an idiot. "Are you sick in the head? Why would I hide from you?"

Seeing him still acting so self-righteous only enraged Yan Zhen further. "Do you have any idea how much you've humiliated me? If you want to debase yourself, can you leave the rest of us out of it?"

Yan Ningke had no idea what he was talking about. He just wanted to hurry up and use the bathroom. "Who's dragging you into anything? You think you're so noble?"

"Then get lost! Get out of my house! Stop clinging to our Yan family name like a dog and embarrassing us everywhere you go!"

Yan Zhen pointed at him and shouted viciously, his face full of resentment and disgust.

Yan Ningke scoffed. "Haven't I already gotten lost? How many days did I ever live in the Yan family home? Go ask around and see who even knows I'm part of the Yan family. Aren't you the one who keeps coming after me like a fucking moron, desperate for attention?"

The original owner of this body had attended boarding school throughout middle and high school, then been kicked out by the Yan family when he started college, under the fine pretext that he was grown up and should live independently.

The laughable part was that they had given him nothing, yet Yan Zhen still acted as though the original owner had taken advantage of them.

Yan Zhen wanted to say more, but Yan Ningke shoved him aside. "Move. Don't block the way. Fuck off wherever you belong!"

His perfectly good mood had been ruined just like that. It was irritating as hell.

After finishing, he flushed and came out to find Yan Zhen still there. Without so much as looking at him, Yan Ningke went straight to wash his hands.

To his surprise, Yan Zhen followed right behind him, refusing to leave him alone. "Yan Ningke, the whole world knows what a cheap slut you are. To latch on to the Shao family, first you let them toy with you like a dog. Now you've sunk even lower. You figured you couldn't cling to Shao Yang, so you actually switched to waiting on a cripple!"

Yan Ningke's expression turned cold.

Seeing his displeasure excited Yan Zhen, a foul darkness running rampant in his eyes. "What, that cripple can't satisfy you? I hear psychos like that are really good at tormenting people. Don't tell me he's already broken you?"

In the mirror, Yan Ningke saw his twisted, ugly face. It was sickening enough to make him want to vomit.

"Yan Ningke, you deserve to have Mom and Dad reject you. You're garbage. You're only fit to be with a cripple like-Aah!"

In the otherwise deserted space, Yan Ningke abruptly turned and lashed out with a vicious kick, sending him flying three meters.

The force was tremendous. If the wall hadn't stopped him, Yan Zhen felt he might have been kicked to death.

"I didn't want to do this either, but you insisted on forcing me."

Yan Ningke's voice was calm, yet hearing it sent a chill down the spine.

Yan Zhen clutched his stomach in agony. He wanted to curse him out, but could only groan.

Grabbing his collar, Yan Ningke lifted him easily, seized his throat, and pinned him against the wall. His once-clear, sincere eyes seemed to have donned a mask, now flashing with cold light, terrifyingly dark.

"I didn't want to bother with you, but you just had to be a pest. Do you know what that means? It means someone like you, sticking like glue, chasing after people and making a spectacle of yourself."

Yan Ningke spread his free hand over Yan Zhen's face and slammed his head back hard. "How is that brain of yours any different from being paralyzed? Who are you to look down on anyone?"

Stars burst before Yan Zhen's eyes. His face red from suffocation, he forced out a few words. "You're a slut..."

He had never imagined that the person who used to let him beat and berate him would one day fight back!

Even at a disadvantage now, he still felt no fear, because he knew this useless piece of trash wouldn't dare do anything to him.

For as long as he could remember, Yan Ningke's place in the Yan family had been that of a tool for venting anger. Anyone in a bad mood could beat and berate him, including the servants.

And that idiot had even been happy to be useful, thinking this would earn him Mom and Dad's love.

How laughable.

Yan Ningke actually laughed, driving punch after punch into his face. "Who's the cheap one?"

Only when his face was battered beyond recognition did Yan Ningke grab his hair and drag him in front of the mirror. "Look at that face of yours. Doesn't it have 'cheap' written all over it?"

Yan Zhen struggled to open his swollen eyes, seething with hatred. "You deserve it... Mom and Dad will never like you."

"I've put up with you long enough! You're just a thief, so stop thinking you're so high and mighty. If I hadn't been abducted and sold, where would you even come into it?"

Yan Ningke enunciated every word. "You're nothing but my replacement!"

Those words seemed to strike a nerve. With a sudden burst of strength from who knew where, Yan Zhen broke free of Yan Ningke and began fighting him.

Yan Ningke was prepared, and the moves he had learned were all painfully unbearable ones. Within a few exchanges, Yan Zhen was losing.

"Yan Zhen! Who the hell are you? Why are you hitting him?"

Just then, several people flooded through the doorway. Their voices alone made it clear whose side they were on.

They were all hot-blooded young men. How could they stand by and watch their friend get beaten?

Somehow, it turned into a group fight.

Yan Ningke dodged while seizing every chance to pummel Yan Zhen.

Their numbers still gave them the advantage. However nimble he was, he carelessly took several punches, including one to the face as well as his body. The pain sent his adrenaline surging.

He stopped holding back, picked up a trash can lid, and swung it at each of them in turn. In between, he deliberately stomped on Yan Zhen a few times.

The restroom descended into chaos, spattered with blood.

"Oh, quite lively in here."

A group of men in black rushed in and brought the situation under control in no time.

Yan Ningke leaned against the sink, panting, filthy all over and thoroughly disheveled.

"Little brother, are you shooting a movie?"

Yan Ningke said, "..."

The silver-haired man strolled over leisurely, first leaning close to inspect Yan Ningke and confirm that nothing was seriously wrong.

Then he turned and walked over to the others being held by the men in black. "Where did all these reckless fools come from? Tsk, look at those beaten little faces. How pitiful."

Yan Ningke had had an effective weapon in hand and had jumped onto the sink midway through, striking whoever came at him. I had the advantage.

The packed crowd parted, and the sound of rolling wheels approached.

Shao Ke's face was thunderous. Especially when he saw the injury at the corner of the young man's mouth, a vicious air rose around him.

"Are you done fighting?"

Yan Ningke tossed away his weapon and tugged up the corners of his mouth. "Still have a little anger left to vent."

Shao Ke swept his gaze over the captives one by one. "Mm. Go on, then."

Yan Ningke walked up to Yan Zhen, whose arms were held as he was pinned to the floor, and patted his face twice, neither lightly nor heavily. "What the hell is the Yan family? Just hearing the name makes me sick. Keep your trash to yourself and stay away from me."

Yan Zhen seemed frightened into silence for a long while. Only when Yan Ningke reached Shao Ke's side did he suddenly speak through gritted teeth. "Yan Ningke, Mom and Dad won't let you get away with this!"

So what if he acted arrogant? When the time came, wouldn't he still come running like a dog at a beckon from Mom and Dad, unable to bear leaving the Yan family even when they beat him bloody!

Yan Zhen thought this would scare Yan Ningke, a wild, triumphant smile blazing in his eyes.

Instead, Yan Ningke turned back with a radiant smile.

"That couldn't be better."
