As for Hermione...
Harry really did not like Hermione much at this stage.
She was a little too full of herself, and in her eagerness to show off, she often spoke without considering the people around her, never caring whether her words might upset those who heard them.
Whatever the case, befriending Hermione would have to wait until after the Troll incident, at least.
Hermione had a pretty good personality later on. If she could join him, that would not be out of the question...
Of course, it would strictly be an employment relationship, nothing else. Hermione was not Harry's type. He still preferred the cheerful Ron and the prickly Draco...
Ahem, failing that, Snape was not bad either...
Never mind that. This had gone off track. Harry had not thought that; the original Harry had suddenly possessed him just now. Those were not the current Harry's thoughts.
Anyway, not only was the thick-skinned Ron unlikely to get upset by Hermione, she could very easily make Hermione see red instead...
In Harry's memory, even when Ron was still a boy, he had often infuriated Hermione.
Now that Ron had become a girl, she seemed even more carefree...
Hmm...
As everyone knew, carefree people were not only hard to rattle, but also very good at rattling others...
Harry was no longer the little boy from before his transmigration. He had no obligation to help Hermione work through her issues and fix that unlikable personality of hers.
People could teach you over and over, and you would never learn.
Experience could teach you once, and you would learn.
So, as long as he waited patiently for a while, Ron would probably smooth out Hermione's rough edges.
The male Ron had been a little better. At least when they went to bed at night, Hermione had time to calm down, get her emotions in order, and fight another day.
But the female Little Ronnie? Now that would be interesting...
When Hermione got herself all worked up, she would still have to see Ron grinning away over there, even at bedtime...
And because Ron had a nicer personality, the other three girls in their dormitory had quickly started hanging out with her.
Both Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil clearly preferred spending time with Ron over Hermione.
With Hermione sulking on her own while Ron laughed and horsed around with their roommates, that contrast would probably make it even harder for Hermione to stand...
With the end of Transfiguration, all of Hogwarts' morning classes had finally drawn to a close.
Two classes in one morning were already plenty. Scheduling any more would have been downright inhuman.
Of course, because of the timetable arrangements...
Harry, who only had two or three classes a day, had no more classes at all today.
Once his morning classes were over, the entire afternoon was actually free time.
He just had to keep a bit of an eye on the time and tutor Miss Malfoy in Potions Class in the library at around four in the afternoon.
But why did he need to watch the time?
Could he not simply stay in the library all afternoon?
He happened to have plenty left to study anyway.
He stayed with Ron and had a very relaxed, pleasant lunch.
Under Malfoy's red-eyed stare, Harry and Ron finally parted ways at the entrance to the Great Hall.
In Ron's words, that morning's Charms and Transfiguration classes had left her utterly exhausted, and she now had to go back to the dormitory for a good sleep...
Hmm, Malfoy's eyes were no longer red now.
She was no longer gritting her teeth either.
Even when cutting her steak, she no longer looked as though she were sawing through a plank, but was eating elegantly instead...
That damned Weasley had finally left!
Now Potter would soon be mine, hahahaha!
As for Harry, having transmigrated here to learn magic, he naturally had no desire to waste time.
His next Charms class was not until tomorrow, so today he would go to the library and study on his own~
There was plenty of basic spell theory he could read up on in advance.
Once he had a decent grasp of the theory, he could go learn from Professor Snape, and his [Spellbook] would soon be ready to get to work!
When that happened, he might as well treat Professor Flitwick's lessons as supplementary knowledge rather than rely primarily on his teaching.
Right now, only Professor Snape's teaching pace suited Harry reasonably well. Never mind why it suited him.
The other professors taught too slowly. Harry decided to use their classes for revision and study the other material on his own whenever he had time, rather than wait for the professors to get to it.
"The Levitation Charm..."
"Hiss, it actually can't be used inside someone's intestines? I thought it could target specific organs..."
Harry had only just opened a copy of the Complete Guide to First-Year Charms, and the very first chapter had already made him frown deeply.
What the hell was this?
In theory, if the Levitation Charm could affect a human body and make someone fly, surely it should be able to affect human organs?
Immediately doubting the textbook, Harry casually flipped back to the cover of the Complete Guide to First-Year Charms.
"No, this definitely has to work. This textbook was recently compiled by the Ministry of Magic. They probably put that warning in deliberately to head off bizarre ideas like mine!"
Mystery solved. This was the Ministry of Magic's handiwork.
The Ministry of Magic was far too muddled in how it described the prohibited uses of many things.
It was clearly possible, just a slightly evil way of using it, yet they were actually trying to put Harry off by telling him it could not be used that way!
How could that possibly work?
Now Harry insisted on using it that way!
Even if it really could not be used like that, it would only mean Harry was not putting enough magic into it.
As long as he had enough magic and sufficiently precise control, it would definitely work!
And even if that still did not work, did he not have the [Spellbook]?
Harry refused to believe it could not be done!
"I'll give it a try when the time comes. As it happens, that idiot Quirrell will let a Troll loose on Halloween in a while. I can use the Troll to put my ideas into practice..."
"A Troll has enough vitality that I'll definitely be able to test the first stage of the spells properly. As for that damned contraption of Quirrell's, he can deal with that headache himself..."
Harry quickly unrolled a fresh piece of parchment and began writing down every idea he had come up with from the summer holidays until now.
Whatever he did, he would definitely need a plan first.
First, he would learn the magic, then borrow a living subject-a Troll-to conduct experiments in fine magical control.
Once he had tested everything thoroughly, he would follow the familiar formula and use the [Spellbook] to synthesize his ideal spells.
After that, another round of live testing should leave them ready for use without any problems...
The Sorting Hat had been right. On that point alone, Harry might indeed have been better suited to Slytherin...
(The weekend is almost here. I'll try to post a few more updates so you can read without getting too frustrated. Anyway, the one over on Dianzi hasn't gone premium yet, so there isn't much pressure to update.)
(I'll also try to hit ten thousand words a day on the older book on my profile over the next couple of days. Read without worry, and thanks for all your support~)
Before you continue
