A grueling day of training was nearly over. Before it ended, Coach Anzai suddenly shared some good news with everyone.
Shohoku would head to Jousei High School in Shizuoka Prefecture tomorrow for a week-long training camp, during which they would play three friendly games against Jousei High School.
Jousei High School was no weak team. They were the top-ranked high school in Shizuoka Prefecture and had reached the national quarterfinals last year.
Jousei High School's core player was their captain, Mikoshiba, a power forward who excelled at scoring under the basket.
The school's name sounded a little familiar to Ryota Kudo, though. At first, it sounded rather like the name of the protagonist's high school in Kuroko's Basketball.
But the school Kuroko and Taiga Kagami attended was called Seirin High School, and their team was who knew how many times stronger than Jousei High School.
Before they dispersed, Ayako Inoue made a point of reminding them, "Don't forget that everyone needs to pay 36,700 yen for the training camp!"
Shohoku held this sort of training camp every year. This was simply their first time going somewhere so far away.
After they dispersed, Ryota Kudo looked at the sky overhead. The weather was terrible, and the forecast had said a typhoon would hit tonight. He had better get home early.
Yet in this dangerously windy weather, four people not only failed to go home, but headed to the most dangerous place of all: the seaside.
Those four were the members of the Sakuragi Gang. They wanted to earn money through part-time work to pay for their trip to Hiroshima.
This year's National Tournament would be held in Hiroshima, and the Sakuragi Gang planned to go there to cheer for Hanamichi Sakuragi in person.
Although these four treated Hanamichi Sakuragi very well,
