It was timber from Treasure Tree Adam, the hardest and most precious shipbuilding wood in the world. It was said to withstand the storms of the New World and cannon fire, the finest material every shipwright dreamed of.
Bare-chested, with tools in his hands, Franky grinned at all the Straw Hat Pirates. "See this? This is Treasure Tree Adam! A ship built from it will definitely take you through the entire Grand Line. Even the storms of the New World won't damage it!"
Luffy came closer and ran his hand over the smooth wood, his eyes lighting up. "Wow! This wood is so hard! Franky, are you really going to use it to build us a new ship?"
"Of course!" Franky thumped his chest and shouted, "SUPER! I, Franky, am going to build you the best ship there is, a ship that can carry you to the ends of the world! Its name will be the Thousand Sunny!"
"The Thousand Sunny?" Everyone repeated the name, their eyes lighting up. It sounded wonderful.
Over the next few days, everyone helped build the new ship. Usopp designed new weapons for it, hoping they could protect the ship in a crisis. Nami designed a dedicated chart room, along with her own room. Chopper designed a spacious infirmary, Zoro designed a gym, and Sanji designed an enormous kitchen and a refrigerated storeroom that could hold plenty of ingredients. Everyone happily threw themselves into the work.
Usopp secretly hid in a corner of the dock to practice his marksmanship. His hands had grown much steadier. Watching Luffy and the others busy at work with their backs to him, he felt deeply guilty. He had fallen out with
