Two figures collided furiously in midair.

One was shrouded in dark-purple shadows, his dragon wings tearing through the clouds, six shadow tendrils thrashing behind him like giant pythons. Every lash left a black fissure in the air that lingered long afterward.

The other held a longsword, his silver-gray hair whipping in the wind. Pitch-black Conqueror's Haki coiled around his blade, and every slash tore a visible rift across the sky.

They had fought their way from the ruins of the sacred hall into midair. The collisions between shadows and slashes blasted the clouds into fragments, which churned and spread through the air, rolling outward in overlapping layers under the shockwaves woven from those two powers. All of Mary Geoise could see that torn sky.

"A mere inhabitant of the lower world!" Saint Garling cleaved through an incoming shadow tendril, the Conqueror's Haki on his blade shattering it into countless fragments. Those fragments re-formed into shadows in midair and attacked him from six directions at once. He swept his sword back across, his Conqueror's Haki slash forming a black arc that knocked all six tendrils away. "You think yourself worthy of opposing a god?"

Lü Bu did not answer. He answered with Sky Piercer.

The halberd blade cut through the air, shadow energy gathering at its tip into a rapidly spinning black vortex. Inside the vortex was an entrance to the Distortion World; anything sucked inside would be torn to pieces by the laws of reversal. Saint Garling held his sword across to block. The halberd struck the sword, unleashing a ring of interwoven black-and-gold shockwaves.
