After the memorial, Douglas put away the table and the wine.
The professors were left speechless at the sight. They had never expected Douglas to bring a table and wine to a place like this.
Then they approached the kneeling stone statue of Tom Riddle.
The Heads of House immediately looked at Douglas when they saw the kneeling statue. Although they did not recognize the young Voldemort, this style was unmistakably Douglas's handiwork.
Seeing everyone looking at him, Douglas explained:
"This is what Voldemort looked like at sixteen, when he was Tom Riddle. Having him kneel here is meant to make him repent before the heroes who sacrificed their lives."
Snape gave a disdainful snort.
"Do you think the Dark Lord is someone who would repent?"
Having just paid their respects to the fallen, the others said nothing more on the subject.
Dumbledore said from beside them, "Tom's soul is already in a precarious state. The only way to save him now is repentance. Only repentance can mend his soul. Douglas, open the door for us."
Dumbledore's abrupt change of subject made his mouth twitch.
Looking at his four former teachers before him, he suddenly regretted the door-opening mechanism he had set up. Spitting at a statue in such a tasteless manner in front of his former professors-he suddenly felt he could not bring himself to do it.
Suddenly embarrassed, Douglas scratched his head and said:
"Originally, opening the entrance to this hidden domain required someone to offer up most of their own blood. After I came here last time, I changed the requirement so that the door would open as long as someone spat at this statue... heh heh..."
The corner of Snape's mouth twitched.
The other three Heads of House were utterly speechless.
Professor McGonagall cleared her throat
