The corners of Victoria's mouth lifted slightly as she said calmly:
"At least it's better than causing trouble for the school."
"Ha! A very Slytherin answer."
Sirius clapped his hands and praised her with a smile.
"All right, back to the point. What does the Academic Affairs Office do?
Simply put, it's the department that keeps Hogwarts running as a school of magic.
Class scheduling, student management, event organization, teacher coordination, external liaison... and dealing with all sorts of emergencies."
With Slytherin taking the lead, Gryffindor refused to fall behind. Jack immediately asked:
"Like students dueling in the corridors?"
"That's the prefects' job."
Emily raised her hand nervously and said:
"Conflicts between professors?"
"That's the headmaster's job."
Augustine asked tentatively.
"Organizing Quidditch matches?"
"That's Madam Hooch's job."
Victoria folded her arms and tilted her head:
"Then what exactly are we supposed to do?"
Sirius snapped his fingers, and four cups of tea settled onto the desk. Then he snapped his fingers again, and four chairs landed behind them.
"Have a seat, make yourselves comfortable. Naturally, we do the things nobody wants to do, but somebody has to."
All four fell silent.
"Just kidding!"
Sirius took a sip of the tea he had swiped from Douglas's office, then said leisurely:
"Actually, the Academic Affairs Office is the hub connecting all the school's departments. We assist the various departments, fill the gaps, and solve problems.
And all the issues you just mentioned-the work that originally belonged to the prefects, the headmaster, and Madam Hooch-have been taken over by us."
He pulled four sheets of parchment out of a drawer and handed one to each of them:
"This is your first assignment-a personal aptitude assessment. Answer these questions so I can get to know your strengths."
