The First One

"Holy shit, it really is him!"

"Fuck, I couldn't see his face in the dark, but I definitely saw those three backpacks!"

"Son of a bitch, I could've gathered more supplies!"

At first, the survivors had been focused solely on escaping. Now, at Lin Qi's reminder, they looked back and saw the backpacks on Li Xing.

Curses and murmurs began to ripple through the crowd.

Seeing that he had achieved his goal, Lin Qi quickened his pace as he followed the Extraordinary. The seeds of hatred had been sown in their hearts. He would not need to lift a finger. The moment they sprouted would be the moment Li Xing died.

"S-sir Extraordinary, they're gathering around us!"

A startled cry broke up the crowd's discussion.

The survivors looked around in terror. At some point, the number of store clerks with contorted bodies had risen into double digits. Coming from every direction, they had almost completely sealed off the survivors' escape routes!

The screams in the surrounding darkness had ceased. Those people had either escaped the supermarket or all died.

The only survivors still moving had become the supermarket's eerie creatures' final targets!

"Little mice, did you think you could steal things and run..."

A dry, hoarse voice came from ahead. A mass of shadow gathered on the floor, then transformed into a five-meter-tall humanoid creature with no facial features.

It stood at the boundary between darkness and sunlight, as though it meant to crush the survivors' last shred of hope!

"Break through!"

The Extraordinary's first words were an angry roar.

He held nothing back now. His body rapidly expanded, and in the blink of an eye, he transformed before all the survivors into a five-meter-tall Giant Bear wreathed in black mist!

"Roar!"

The Extraordinary roared, slamming his enormous paw at the shadow while his saliva-coated fangs lunged for its head.

"Ah!"

Another scream erupted from the crowd.

Pinned down by the shadow, the Extraordinary had no time at all to spare for the survivors. In fact, although his presence was clearly more imposing, apart from his initial surprise attack, the fight against the shadow giant had become a completely one-sided beating.

After all, when the Extraordinary took a beating, he really took a beating.

When the shadow was struck, it instantly dispersed and re-formed a moment later. He could do no damage to it at all!

The survivors, who had no fighting ability whatsoever, simply became food for the store clerks.

The survivors who had been working together to flee now began using one another as bait in the face of death.

As Lin Qi ran, a single glance showed him one survivor taking advantage of the chaos to knock another down before charging toward the light without looking back.

With chaos erupting everywhere, the easiest person to target was naturally the culprit, Li Xing.

He had already seen quite a few survivors running at roughly Li Xing's speed begin to turn their attention toward him.

Then, an eerie store clerk approached.

A survivor made his move...

He grabbed the shelf beside him with both hands and yanked hard. Once the shelf fell, Li Xing would be dead for certain.

Crash!

The shelf toppled rapidly.

Li Xing's expression changed at the sight. "Motherfucker, you wanna die?!"

At the brink of death, he actually surpassed his limits and dashed clear before the shelf hit the floor.

He fixed his eyes on the fleeing survivor ahead, pulled off a backpack, and hurled it hard. "Fuck, you tried to screw me over! Go fucking die!"

The backpack struck the survivor's right leg, and he fell to the floor with a scream.

Li Xing passed the survivor and delivered another vicious kick before continuing to flee. "Fuck, you dared mess with me? You've got a death wish!"

Lin Qi caught sight of this from a distance and inwardly sighed at the missed opportunity.

But...

Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, he looked at the store clerk devouring the survivor behind Li Xing and lowered his voice. "I Fine You 800 Yuan!"

"Roar!"

The ability activated, and the store clerk instantly flew into a rage. The survivor's corpse beneath his hands no longer appealed to him. Faster than before, he charged madly toward Li Xing, who was closest.

Li Xing was terrified by the sudden change. "Holy shit, what's going on?!"

The store clerk was fast, but he was not slow either.

Once he caught up to the next survivor, Li Xing grabbed him and gave him a tug, sending the running survivor off balance and tumbling to the floor.

Before the unlucky survivor could even react, an icy hand had already clamped around his throat!

"Fuck, this is seriously fucking weird." Seeing the store clerk delayed again, Li Xing finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But before he could run another two steps, a figure came running toward him from the opposite direction.

When he saw who it was, Li Xing's pupils suddenly contracted.

It was none other than Lin Qi!

After two consecutive attempts had failed to kill Li Xing, Lin Qi had no choice but to act himself.

They were now very close to the exit, and the strongest eerie creature was still being held up by the Extraordinary. He was confident he could kill Li Xing and get away unscathed.

He could not let Li Xing return to the group alive.

The group had its rules. Killing within the group was forbidden, and anyone who killed would be expelled. Everyone knew what happened to those who left the group.

His only choice was to finish Li Xing off right here!

Whatever the grudge, as long as it was not brought into the group, it did not count as breaking the rules.

"Lin Qi?" Li Xing was shocked to see Lin Qi still alive. Malice flashed through his eyes, then he quickly resumed his usual friendly manner. "Lin Qi, let me explain..."

"It's fine, we're buddies. Save your breath. I believe you."

Lin Qi flashed his white teeth with a smile, looking as though he did not care at all about what had happened earlier.

At this, Li Xing was filled with scorn. I can't believe this guy's still so stupid. I didn't manage to kill you before. Let's see if you survive this time.

His gaze darted around before finally settling on a store clerk crouched on the floor nearby, feeding on a survivor.

Just as he was preparing to play a dirty trick on Lin Qi.

Lin Qi spoke first. "Bro, Give Me Some Face?"

"Huh?"

Before Li Xing could work out what those words meant, his body inexplicably froze. Horror filled his eyes, and his voice trembled. "Y-you, you..."

"Heh, don't worry. Your lover will be joining you soon."

Lin Qi's back blocked the view from outside the supermarket. A fruit knife was already buried in Li Xing's heart...
