As the functions of the Personal Terminal improved, it gradually became part of every aspect of Wizards' lives.

Take record-keeping, for example.

More and more Wizards had begun using Personal Terminals in place of pen and paper to record text and information. Compared to the Quick-Quotes Quill, entering text into a Personal Terminal was not only faster but also more accurate.

At work, Penelope had always received and organized materials through her Personal Terminal, so she had long since begun writing her diary on it as well.

There had originally been nothing unusual about that, but perhaps due to exhaustion from work, she had once accidentally sent her diary to Bell along with everything else.
