The piercing cry rang through the sky once more, making Great Seer Mu De, who had been about to say something, turn back in alarm toward the center of the tribe.
At the center of every troll tribe was an open space. A crude altar stood in the middle of it, with a totem pole planted atop it. Carved into the pole was the image of the Loa God worshipped by the tribe.
The Loa God was born from the totem pole and normally slumbered within it.
Now, because Bell's group of "foreign demons" stubbornly refused to leave, the Emerald Peak Tribe's Loa, which Mu De had temporarily placated earlier, could no longer endure the looming sense of danger. Its spirit burst from the totem pole once again and lunged fiercely at Bell and the others.
"No! Great Loa God! Please calm your anger for now!"
Mu De let out a desperate cry, trying to stop his own god from courting death.
However, as spirit-like beings born from primitive worship, most troll Loa Gods were savage and bloodthirsty. Beast-form Loa in particular generally possessed low intelligence and simply could not understand Mu De's painstaking intentions.

After the Emerald Peak Tribe's Loa God flew above Bell and the others, it opened its sharp beak and spat out an emerald-green beam straight at Bell, who stood at the front.
A translucent Shield Charm appeared before Bell, blocking the emerald beam.
The beam struck the Shield Charm and bounced back. The Emerald Peak Tribe's Loa hurriedly tilted its head aside, and the beam grazed past its skull. Several feathers drifted through the air before finally turning into green motes of light and vanishing into the air.
"Warriors of the Emerald Peak Tribe, heed my command! Attack!"
