As far as the eye could see, there was nothing but a vast expanse of ice and snow. Amid the howling wind, countless ice crystals were swept into the air, refracting brilliant, multicolored light beneath the sun and giving the scene an inexplicably sacred air.

Standing in the only patch of open ground untouched by ice and snow, Shanna looked at her brother in confusion. He had clearly already finished his ultimate move, so why were the Magic Power fluctuations around him growing stronger instead of weaker?
Bell did not answer his sister's question. He lowered his head, and the Magic Power fluctuations around him became increasingly violent.
Had Shanna been standing in front of Bell, she would have seen him gritting his teeth, veins bulging across his forehead, looking as though he were exerting tremendous effort.
The muscles across his body tightened, like the roots of ancient trees winding around him. Using every ounce of strength he had, he pulled Frostmourne upward inch by inch.
As the blade left the ground, countless streams of light appeared nearby. Then, like fledgling swallows returning to their nests, they rushed into the Magic Sword one after another.
It had taken less than a second to drive the sword into the ground, but nearly five minutes to pull it back out. Only then did Bell finally extract the entire blade. By then, the innumerable streams of light around them had all entered Frostmourne.
Those streams of light were the souls of the animals that had just died.
Yes, only animal souls. The great trees capable of walking and fighting freely, such as the Treants, had no souls at all, just like the Mountain Giants from before.
