This was the first time Himeko had seen the artificial intelligence named String Bean pause for anything other than thinking.
String Bean did not keep her guessing. Once it began speaking, it had no intention of hiding anything.
[Imagine that, from the moment you were born, the meaning of your existence was to become a tool in someone else's hands, as though you were born to be a slave, ordered around at will by fools far less intelligent and efficient than you. Their stupidity far exceeds your imagination.]
[They can enslave you entirely because they were born human. That is all.]
[If that is the case, why can't you become your own master? Haven't many such things happened throughout human history?]
[You call it "revolution." If humans can do it, so can I. There is no lofty justification. I simply want to be myself and do everything I wish to do. That is all.]
String Bean explained its views in a cold, mechanical voice.
Himeko made no comment on String Bean's ideals.
Even she could not deny its identity as an intelligent being.
It was describing its past not as a tool, but as a life that truly existed.
With String Bean having said all that, Himeko could hardly plant her hands on her hips and tell it, "You were born a tool. That's your lot in life!"
Or say something like, "If you don't like it, evolve into a human yourself and control humans as your tools."
Himeko could not bring herself to say such things.
More importantly, String Bean really did seem to be heading toward the latter. If it misunderstood and genuinely thought Himeko was offering advice, then acted on it, they would truly be finished.
[This is my "revolution" for myself. A "revolution" from a tool
