Ch. 61The outcome... decided?

Dunn fought Morin, recovered from a devastating shoulder wound, and used his regeneration to turn the battle around. Morin struck Dunn in the head, leaving him collapsed on the ground.

  • Morin overwhelmed Dunn with his spear and pierced his left shoulder, disabling his arm.
  • Dunn activated his career ability and rapidly healed his shoulder, convincing Morin that his recovery came from an ability rather than hyper-regeneration.
  • Dunn resumed the fight aggressively, trading injuries for attacks as his wounds repeatedly healed and Morin began to give ground.
  • Morin chose to risk a cut to his neck and swung his spear at Dunn's head while Dunn thrust his sword at Morin's throat.
  • Dunn's sword left only a shallow cut on Morin's neck, while Morin's spear hit Dunn's head and sent him crashing to the ground.

Ch. 62Slaughterer

Dunn defeated Morin by regenerating from a seemingly fatal head wound and draining the blood from Morin’s body, but Morin began transforming his Battle Aura into forbidden killing aura. The battle at Pulan Harbor remained unresolved as both sides witnessed Morin’s return to the battlefield.

  • Dunn recovered from Morin’s attack and used his ability to make Morin’s neck wound reopen and drain his blood until Morin collapsed.
  • Annie watched the pirates lose ground to Pulan Harbor’s soldiers and ordered them to keep firing rather than rescue the crew of the sunken [Blood Bird].
  • Morin and Dunn crashed onto the battlefield, where the combatants stopped fighting upon seeing Morin pinned by Dunn’s spear.
  • Dunn tried to finish off Morin but stopped when crimson energy appeared in Morin’s Battle Aura.
  • Dunn accused Morin of defying the Wizard Council’s ban by trying to advance from [General] to [Slaughterer].

Ch. 63The killing blow

Morin revealed that the Kingdom of Wesley had prepared him to become a [Slaughterer] for a future war, then advanced and overpowered Dunn. Dunn used blood gathered and compressed on the harbor battlefield to kill Morin with Blood Piercing, turning the fight around at the last moment.

  • Morin explained that the Kingdom of Wesley had given him the knowledge to advance to [Slaughterer] and prepared him for the next war.
  • As Morin's battle aura turned to killing aura, Dunn fled toward the harbor battlefield to replenish his blood.
  • Morin caught Dunn, hurled him into the harbor battlefield, and pinned him to the ground with a spear.
  • Morin demanded to know which faction Dunn served, and Dunn lured him closer by pretending he would answer.
  • Dunn unleashed Blood Piercing, which pierced Morin's brow and burst his head after Dunn compressed blood gathered from the battlefield.

Ch. 64The end

After killing Morin, Dunn recovered enough to defeat the remaining Pulan Harbor professionals and lead the pirates to victory. He captured the harbor, while Annie prepared to expose the Kingdom of Wesley’s violation of the Wizard Council’s prohibition, leaving Dunn facing the threat of a fourth-tier pursuer.

  • A Pulan Harbor professional tried to kill the wounded Dunn, but Dunn drained his life force, removed Morin’s spear, and killed him.
  • Morin’s adjutant charged Dunn after urging the soldiers to fight for their families, and Dunn killed him with one strike.
  • Dunn joined the fighting and destroyed the soldiers’ morale, then attacked the Coastal Defense Cannons to prevent more pirate ships from sinking.
  • The pirates routed the soldiers, finished the battle, recovered the survivors of the Blood Bird, and entered Pulan Harbor.
  • Annie learned that Morin had been close to advancing and vowed to expose the Kingdom of Wesley for violating the Wizard Council’s prohibition.
  • Dunn realized that the Kingdom of Wesley might send a fourth-tier professional to hunt him for disrupting its plans.

Ch. 65Hoffman

Dunn decided to support the disabled pirates after the battle, using the island’s well-stocked stores to fund their care. He then met Hoffman, a second-tier [Hypnotist] imprisoned by Morin, who began explaining how he survived the Slaughterer’s attacks.

  • Annie reported that the [Blood Bird] had been destroyed, the other ships damaged, and five class holders killed.
  • Dunn ordered a funeral for the dead and decided to provide prosthetic limbs and ongoing support for the disabled crew.
  • Annie reported that the island’s storehouses held supplies intended for the Kingdom of Wesley’s exploration fleet.
  • Hawkins found a prisoner in the island’s prison, and Dunn and Annie went to meet him.
  • Hoffman told Dunn that Morin had captured him after attacking his merchant ship, and revealed that he was a second-tier [Hypnotist].

Ch. 66Provocation

After Dunn’s attack on Pulan Harbor, Hoffman joined his group when he realized the Kingdom of Wesley would target everyone who survived. The Wesley fleet discovered the massacre and vowed to pursue Dunn, while the Boll Family discussed Dunn’s potential and arranged to protect Annie and contact the Nobeli Kingdom.

  • Hoffman explained that Morin had wanted him to become an [Illusionist] and conceal his massacres, then declined Dunn’s offer to join the group.
  • Hoffman saw Dunn’s pirates building a pyramid of soldiers’ heads as a provocation against the Kingdom of Wesley, and asked to join Dunn after realizing he would be in danger.
  • A few days later, the Wesley exploration fleet found Pulan Harbor deserted and discovered Morin’s head atop a mound of five hundred heads beside a stone naming Dunn Campbell as the killer.
  • The fleet commander destroyed the mound and ordered the royal capital to investigate Dunn.
  • The Boll Family discussed Annie’s report that Dunn had reached level 15, considered his potential and willpower training, and agreed that Annie should seek compensation from Dunn.
  • The Boll Family decided to secretly report the Kingdom of Wesley’s violation of the Wizard Council’s ban to the Nobeli Kingdom and urged swift action to protect Annie and her companions.

Ch. 67An enormous bounty

The Kingdom of Wesley issued a huge bounty for Dunn after his attack on Pulan Harbor, while the Wizard Council’s investigation order alarmed the king. At sea, Dunn learned his bounty had made him a feared new rival among the Pirate Kings and chose to advance to the third-tier Supernova class.

  • The King of Wesley learned Dunn Campbell had attacked Pulan Harbor and ordered a bounty while condemning the Kingdom of Lyon, then received an investigation order from the Wizard Council.
  • Dunn’s pirates trained hard after their losses at Pulan Harbor while Dunn rested under a parasol and declined to train.
  • Annie read a report naming Dunn the Blood Demon and announcing a bounty of ten thousand gold coins, with a warning that capturers below the fourth tier should avoid him.
  • Dunn opened his Career Card and confirmed his advancement to the third-tier Supernova class.

Ch. 68Advancement

After advancing to Third Tier Supernova, Dunn gained Haki abilities and reached combat strength equivalent to a Fourth Tier class holder. He considered his Fourth Tier advancement paths and decided to challenge a reigning Pirate King.

  • Dunn advanced to Third Tier Supernova, gaining Six King Gun, Armament Haki, Observation Haki, and Animated Fleet.
  • Dunn found that his strength and stamina gains were reduced by diminishing returns, while his combat strength had reached Biological Level 16.
  • Dunn assessed the Pirate King and Silver-Plate Overlord advancement classes and focused on the requirements for becoming a Pirate King.
  • Dunn considered discovering a new sea route or defeating a reigning Pirate King, then chose to challenge one.

Ch. 69Back to Cutlass Harbor

Dunn told Annie that becoming a Pirate King was the requirement for his next advancement, then led his battered fleet back to Cutlass Harbor to recruit crew and repair the ships. Their arrival caused a stir among the pirates, who recognized Dunn and hoped to join his fleet.

  • Dunn told Annie he would have to become a Pirate King to advance to the fourth tier and said he would choose his opponent carefully.
  • Dunn decided the fleet should return to Cutlass Harbor to recruit crew and repair its damaged ships.
  • Dunn ordered the four ships to turn toward Cutlass Harbor, and the fleet sailed there without encountering serious danger.
  • The fleet arrived at Cutlass Harbor, where pirates recognized the ships and Dunn, and many hoped to join his crew.

Ch. 70A bloodbath at Cutlass Harbor

Dunn organized his crew and attempted to sell the goods taken from Pulan Harbor in Cutlass Harbor, where Annie confronted a merchant who offered far too little. When Ripper Bruce and armed pirates blocked their way, Dunn killed them and declared war on the Pirate King.

  • Dunn assigned Hans and Lewis to recruit crew members, put Hawkins in charge of ship repairs, and took Annie to find buyers for their plunder.
  • Annie rejected a merchant’s offer of one thousand gold coins and tried to leave with Dunn, but the merchant’s pirates surrounded them.
  • Ripper Bruce appeared as the Pirate King’s representative and threatened Dunn, who demanded ten thousand gold coins for the goods instead.
  • Dunn seized Bruce and crushed his head, then killed the merchant and the surrounding pirates with the blood from Bruce’s head.
  • Dunn told Annie to alert the crew and prepare for battle, declaring that they would attack everyone in Cutlass Harbor and make war on the Pirate King.

Ch. 71An old acquaintance

Dunn confronted four third-tier Great Pirates after killing Bruce, while Annie rushed to alert the crew. At the bar, Annie recognized the one-armed [Oathkeeper] Gannis, an old acquaintance.

  • Asta, Carroll, Roman, and Kulls rushed in after Dunn killed Bruce, but his Conqueror's Color Haki let Annie leave safely.
  • The four Great Pirates realized Dunn was far stronger than expected and argued over whether they had any chance against him.
  • Dunn transformed and lunged at the four pirates as Annie ran toward the harbor to warn the crew.
  • Annie met Hoffman, told him about the ambush, and sent him to alert the crew while she continued to the bar.
  • Annie found Green at the unusually quiet bar and recognized the dejected, one-armed [Oathkeeper] Gannis.

Ch. 72Overwhelming might

Annie found the gravely wounded Gannis in a bar and asked how he had ended up that way, while Dunn fought several Great Pirates. Dunn killed Asta and defeated Carroll, Roman, and Kulls; Annie arrived to find their corpses and Dunn unharmed.

  • Annie found Gannis in a bar and worried that he could endanger Dunn despite his severe injuries.
  • Annie questioned Gannis about what had reduced him to his current state, and he began recounting his story.
  • Dunn killed Asta after deflecting his attacks and piercing his chest.
  • Carroll, Roman, and Kulls attacked Dunn together, but he covered the area in black mist and evaded their strikes.
  • Dunn used Blood Piercing to kill Carroll, Roman, and Kulls, and Annie arrived to find him standing among their corpses.

Ch. 73Blockade

After Annie told Dunn that Gannis had defeated Pirate King Ronald but been crippled by a Legendary, Dunn realized the Pirate Kings were backed by Legendaries. Rather than flee Cutlass Harbor, Dunn blockaded it for a week and dismissed Annie’s concern about Gannis.

  • Dunn slaughtered the third-tier Great Pirates, and Annie reported that the crew was safe but that Gannis had come to Cutlass Harbor.
  • Annie told Dunn that Gannis had defeated [Giant Wave] Ronald, but refused to become a Legendary’s representative and lost his right arm as punishment.
  • Dunn understood that Legendaries stood behind the Pirate Kings and feared that one might intervene if he challenged Ronald.
  • Annie urged Dunn to repair the ship and leave before the Pirate King arrived, but Dunn flew over Cutlass Harbor and declared a week-long blockade.
  • Annie warned Dunn that Gannis was still on the island, but Dunn dismissed the crippled [Oathbreaker] as no threat.

Ch. 74Making a Run for It

Dunn seized control of Cutlass Harbor, gathered a fleet, and prepared to flee after learning that the Pirate King had Legendary backing. He left the harbor with more than a thousand selected pirates, while his anger over being forced to retreat continued to build.

  • Dunn blockaded Cutlass Harbor and forced its pirates to obey him, killing those who resisted while leaving Gannis and his men alone.
  • Dunn's forces hunted down the Great Pirates' remaining followers, and his fleet grew to nineteen ships as the harbor fell under his control.
  • After a week, Dunn selected more than a thousand able-bodied non-Classholder pirates and ordered the repaired ships to sail.
  • Dunn left Cutlass Harbor with his fleet, having taken its valuables and chosen to risk crossing unknown waters rather than face Ronald's pursuit.
  • Dunn suppressed his anger over fleeing and began looking for a target on which to vent it.

Ch. 75Sea monster

After the fleet entered uncharted waters, Dunn and the pirates kept watch for sea monsters until a giant tentacled beast attacked and destroyed one of their ships. Dunn killed the monster with blood manipulation, leaving the fleet to face the dangers of the uncharted waters without its threat.

  • Dunn maintained Observation Haki while Annie and the crews carefully navigated the uncharted waters.
  • Dunn sensed a sea monster approaching, but it reached the fleet and crushed an outer ship before he could intervene.
  • Nearby ships formed a semicircle and bombarded the sea monster with cannons as Dunn flew toward it.
  • Dunn used the monster’s blood to wound it severely and stop its tentacles from attacking the pirate ships.
  • The sea monster tried to flee, but Dunn formed a massive blood spear and pierced it, killing it.

Ch. 76Venting his fury

After losing a pirate ship to a sea monster, Dunn grew frustrated that his path to class advancement remained blocked and decided to vent his anger by plundering a nearby vessel. The ships drew alongside, and after a clash of insults, Dunn knocked out most of the opposing crew with Conqueror's Color Haki, but the nobleman resisted it.

  • Dunn returned to the Black Pearl after killing the sea monster and ordered the fleet to salvage its remains and rescue the destroyed ship's survivors.
  • Dunn brooded over the lost pirate ship and his stalled advancement, then ordered the Black Pearl to pursue a lone ship he spotted nearby.
  • Dunn brought the Black Pearl alongside the larger vessel, whose sailors remained calm as a haughty young nobleman mocked the pirates.
  • The nobleman ordered his sailors to seize the pirates after they insulted him, and Dunn gave his crew permission to attack.
  • Dunn activated Conqueror's Color Haki, knocking out ordinary sailors and weaker second-tier professionals, but the nobleman resisted its pressure.

Ch. 77A suitable punching bag

Dunn attacked Laimu, a powerful third-tier professional, while his pirates overwhelmed the nobleman’s guards and captured him. Dunn and Laimu fought fiercely over the sea, with Dunn’s stronger energy driving their battle onward.

  • Dunn let Laimu run him through, then carried him into the sky and threw him toward the sea.
  • Morin and the pirates defeated the nobleman’s guards, and Annie ordered the captured nobleman locked up until Dunn returned.
  • Laimu stood on the sea and offered Dunn compensation, but Dunn attacked instead of negotiating.
  • Dunn and Laimu exchanged powerful blows that sent shock waves across the sea and shook the distant ships.

Ch. 78Pure White Tower

Dunn defeated Laimu at sea and returned to the Black Pearl, where he learned that their captive was the grandson of the Pure White Tower’s chief Wizard. Dunn left the young nobleman bound aboard a ship as it sailed away, apparently giving him half an hour before his death could alert his grandfather, who was advancing to Legendary.

  • Dunn gained the upper hand against Laimu, and their battle sent towering waves crashing into the Black Pearl and another ship.
  • Laimu pierced Dunn with his longsword, but Dunn regenerated while his blood turned into black spikes that killed Laimu.
  • Dunn returned to the Black Pearl, and Annie brought the battered young nobleman before him.
  • The young nobleman threatened Dunn with his grandfather’s Tracing Magic and revealed that his grandfather was the chief Wizard of the Pure White Tower, advancing to Legendary.
  • Dunn bound the young nobleman aboard a ship, surrounded him with spears, and watched the ship sail away across the calm sea.

Ch. 79Dead

Dunn gambled that his Fortune would keep the young noble alive for half an hour, but a tentacle dragged the noble’s ship beneath the sea. Later, Dunn received news through the Silver Mirror that Yin Tiger had died while pursuing the Legendary tier.

  • Dunn refused to spare the young noble and arranged for him to face danger at sea, trusting his Fortune to keep the Reversal Spell from revealing him.
  • After a little over half an hour, a thick tentacle seized the young noble’s ship and pulled it underwater.
  • Dunn noticed the Silver Mirror stirring and entered the conversation, where Yin Tiger seemed to have lost his memory.
  • You Rooster reported that Yin Tiger, a genius [Martial Artist], had been beaten to death during his attempts to reach the Legendary tier.
  • You Rooster explained that Yin Tiger had won more than a dozen challenges before an old Classholder killed him.

Ch. 80Legendary

Dunn struggled with the danger of advancing to Legendary while sailing through the Unknown Sea, but his worries were interrupted when a Legendary Wizard appeared aboard the ship and took his Career Card. The wizard examined Dunn’s Bat-Bat Fruit and its blood-manipulating abilities, then lamented that Dunn was Heaven’s Favored.

  • You Rooster welcomed the new Yin Tiger and explained the Silver Mirror and the Eye of the Firmament as others, including Dunn, joined in welcoming him.
  • Dunn brooded over the danger of defeating the Pirate King and then being killed by the Legendary behind him, until Annie urged him to focus on the fleet’s immediate peril.
  • A middle-aged man in old-fashioned robes appeared on deck, and Dunn recognized him as a Legendary Wizard after the man took his Career Card.
  • Green struck down a pirate who challenged the stranger, while Dunn approached the Legendary Wizard and answered his questions about the Bat-Bat Fruit’s abilities.
  • The Legendary Wizard showed interest in Dunn’s blood-manipulating powers but called it troublesome that Dunn was Heaven’s Favored.
