Lott did not answer immediately. Instead, he reached into System Space and took out a huge wine gourd and a large wine cup.
He filled the cup, then tossed the wine gourd to Whitebeard.
Whitebeard caught the gourd, sniffed it, and tipped his head back for a long drink. "Hmm? I've never had this before. This wine is excellent."
He was clearly very pleased with the wine.
Lott also raised his cup and took a sip, then nodded with a smile. "Of course. I got it by robbing the Celestial Dragons."
"Gurararara! Is this tribute wine for the Celestial Dragons? It's really good. Got any more? Give me some."
Hearing Lott's answer, Whitebeard naturally would not let this opportunity slip by.
He did not believe that there was only one gourd of wine intended as tribute for the Celestial Dragons. He suspected that Lott had plenty more stashed away.
But when Marco heard Whitebeard asking Lott for wine, he was the first to object.
"Pops, don't you know what condition your body's in? You can't drink!"
As both the Ship Doctor and his son, he had reminded Whitebeard more than once that he could not drink.
He knew Whitebeard's health was in terrible shape, and alcohol was precisely what he needed to avoid.
Yet whenever Marco was away, Whitebeard would secretly take out his hidden wine and drink it. Even the other crew members tolerated it and covered for him.
Without catching him in the act, Marco could do little about it.
But this time, Whitebeard was openly asking Lott for wine right in front of him. He certainly would not allow it.
"Don't be like that, Marco. They say there's no illness one gourd of wine can't cure. If there is, then make it two!"
