The next day.
On the shore.
"Hey! Lott, I can't swim, and that little boat won't fit all three of us!" Luffy looked at the little boat beside them on the beach and thought Lott seemed a bit unreliable.
Although Lott could fly, he had built a small boat for convenience. He took it along whenever he went to an island.
Even after more than three years, it was still well preserved.
"Of course we're not using this boat. A boat like this obviously doesn't suit my style anymore. Wait here for a moment." With that, Lott used Electromagnetic Instantaneous Movement, vanished before the two of them, and appeared several thousand meters away.
Lott saw the pirate ship Skybreaker in his System Space. It just looked very small, like a model.
Hey! System, you're not joking, are you? How is anyone supposed to fit in something this small?
"Forget it. I'll take it out first." As he spoke, Lott took the ship out.
Miraculously, the one- or two-meter-long Skybreaker grew larger on the ground, turning into a thirty-meter-long ship.
It looked a lot like the Thousand Sunny, except its figurehead wasn't a lion but a pointed bullet shape.
Bands of metallic patterns wrapped around the bottom of the ship.
All the ship's different facilities appeared before his eyes: a captain's quarters, a meeting room, an aquarium, a kitchen, a large bathroom, a library, a training room, a research room, a lookout, and so on.
Even the crew's sleeping quarters were individual rooms.
Lott teleported aboard and looked into every room. To his surprise, every room was unusually large, with far more space than a ship only thirty meters long should have had.
"Could this be spatial compression?"
Looking over the pirate ship, Lott was very satisfied.
He went to the training room and found it divided into two spaces. One room was filled with exercise equipment, just like the gyms in his previous life, with every kind of equipment available.
The other room was empty apart from some weighted gear. A wooden sign hung on the door, reading "Gravity room."
But when Lott walked into this room, he found almost no change in gravity.
After thinking it over briefly, Lott understood why. It seemed this gravity room still needed his electromagnetic force to power it.
Without another thought, Lott slowly began applying electromagnetic force. Pressure gradually built, starting at one times normal gravity, then twice, before finally reaching fifty times.
Lott knew it could go even higher, but he could barely hold on himself.
Now that he knew how outrageous this gravity room was, Lott had very high expectations for the strength of his future companions.
He dragged the Skybreaker over to Luffy and Ace.
"Wow, Lott, is this your pirate ship? So cool! Awesome! Awesome!"
Luffy circled the Skybreaker, stars sparkling in his eyes.
Ace also looked very surprised. He hadn't expected Lott's ship to be so beautiful.
Lott beckoned to the two of them. "Come on, get aboard!"
Luffy had already scrambled aboard, unable to wait.
Ace leaped aboard as well.
"Awesome! There's even a lawn and a swing!" Luffy was rolling around on the lawn.
Lott couldn't help nodding in even greater satisfaction. This was only the basic level; he wondered what the ultimate level would be like.
"Right, we're on the beach now. How are we going to get the ship into the water?" Ace asked, a little puzzled.
Lott held out both hands.
"Watch closely. Electromagnetic force."
Waves of electromagnetic force surged from beneath the ship, and the Skybreaker actually began rising into the air.
"So cool! Awesome! Awesome! The ship can fly!" Luffy ran all over the ship, stars filling his eyes.
Ace also wore a look of shock.
Although he read the newspapers often, he had never heard of a flying ship like this.
But on second thought, it was probably Lott's Devil Fruit ability.
Once the ship reached the sea, Lott lowered it onto the water.
Seriously, flying like that the whole time took a lot of stamina. He applied some electromagnetic force to the stern to propel it.
"Wow! So this is the sea? Ah! Sea, you're so big!" Luffy stood at the bow, looking around excitedly.
Ace leaned over the railing as well, his face full of interest.
Watching the two of them, Lott shook his head in amusement, marveling at how wonderful it was to be young.
He looked out at the boundless sea, wondering whether there were any other pirate crews or Marines nearby.
An electromagnetic field thirty kilometers in diameter spread outward.
But apart from the island behind them, there were no other electromagnetic waves around.
Things seem pretty peaceful.
"Awesome! Awesome! The sea is incredible!" Luffy was still excited.
He ran here for a look, then over there for another, his figure appearing all across the deck.
Ace, on the other hand, was very quiet.
Lott had originally planned to have the two little ones train their bodies in the gravity room, but seeing them like this, he let them be.
They were still children, after all.
Ahem... Although I'm technically a child too, this body houses the soul of a thirty-five-year-old man.
Caw! Caw!
Seagull cries rang out as the birds circled overhead.
Lott couldn't help looking up as well, and the clear blue sky and white clouds instantly filled his heart.
In his previous life, he had seen the sea, blue skies, white clouds, and seagulls too.
But back then, the sky had always been veiled in gray, and the Japanese had dumped some rather nuclear-unreasonable stuff into the sea.
He had truly never seen a sea and sky this pristine.
For a moment, all his unhappiness seemed to have been healed.
Sigh.
Lott couldn't help letting out a sigh.
That's right. I've been training desperately all this time. It's been ages since I rested.
Lott finally relaxed his body too, sitting lazily on the deck and leaning against the railing.
He reached out and used electromagnetic force to unfurl the two large sails, then cut off the electromagnetic thrust at the stern.
He let the Skybreaker drift forward just like that, without worrying about which direction it would sail.
An unknown amount of time passed.
"I see an island! I see an island! Adventure! Adventure!" Luffy was as excited as a monkey.
"Finally spotted an island?" Lott slowly stood up and activated Super Mantra!
A small island appeared in his "vision," and his Mantra could actually cover it completely.
In his "vision," the island ahead was in utter chaos, as though a war had broken out.
"Come on, let's go ashore. Something interesting should happen." With that, Lott activated his electromagnetic ability, propelling the Skybreaker toward the island.
