Ch. 41The first step in a journey to another world

Zongyan used Hachi’s help to reach an abandoned Fuma Clan base and materialized the Multiverse Portal there. He stepped through its world-specific door into a silent, unfamiliar forest, where a sweet floral scent led him onward.

  • Zongyan summoned Hachi and learned that Cat Granny might have access to old Fuma Clan teleportation arrays in the Land of Rice Fields.
  • Hachi transported Zongyan to an abandoned Fuma Clan base, then returned home while Zongyan checked that the area was deserted.
  • Zongyan materialized the Multiverse Portal, bound it to himself, and watched it form a smaller door for another world.
  • Zongyan stepped through the smaller door and arrived in a chilly mountain forest where his chakra still worked.
  • Zongyan drew Murasame after noticing the forest’s unnatural silence, then followed a sweet fragrance through the shrubs and was stunned by what he saw.

Ch. 42Plans in the Demon Slayer World

Uchiha Zongyan arrived at Mount Fujikasane and confirmed that he had entered the Demon Slayer World after encountering Tanjiro Kamado during the Final Selection. He left Tanjiro and began planning to control Muzan and bring an army of demons back to the Shinobi World.

  • Zongyan spotted Tanjiro Kamado fighting a six-armed demon and watched him sever its neck.
  • Zongyan asked Tanjiro whether they were on Mount Fujikasane, gave him Wound Medicine, and introduced himself as Uchiha Zongyan.
  • Tanjiro told Zongyan that many demons remained on the mountain and identified himself before Zongyan continued on alone.
  • Zongyan confirmed that he was in the Demon Slayer World and considered combining Uchiha Swordsmanship with Breathing Styles.
  • Zongyan decided that controlling Muzan could let him command the demons and imagined bringing a hundred thousand of them to the Shinobi World.

Ch. 43A test against demons

Muzan’s latest experiment failed, and he unexpectedly sneezed before ordering Nakime to replace the materials. On Mount Fujikasane, Zongyan joined Tanjiro and they encountered the demon that had killed Sabito and Makomo, leaving Tanjiro injured and Zongyan holding his sword.

  • Muzan’s medicine turned the cells in a test tube gray and lifeless, and he overturned his laboratory table after sneezing.
  • Zongyan found Tanjiro and the short, plump boy tending their wounds, then agreed to accompany Tanjiro toward the mountainside.
  • Tanjiro sensed a demon and rushed to save a selection candidate from its many arms.
  • The demon recognized Tanjiro’s fox mask, revealed that it had killed Sabito and Makomo, and provoked Tanjiro into attacking recklessly.
  • The demon struck Tanjiro and sent him flying, but Zongyan caught him and picked up his Nichirin Blade.

Ch. 44The demon who wanted to die and Tanjiro

Zongyan defeated the Hand Demon and learned that its regeneration weakened when its energy ran low. After returning Tanjiro’s sword, he left Mount Fujikasane and captured another demon to take through the Multiverse Portal to the Shinobi World.

  • Zongyan protected the injured Tanjiro and effortlessly cut apart the Hand Demon’s attacks, then tested how many times it could regenerate.
  • The exhausted Hand Demon begged Zongyan to kill it, and Zongyan beheaded it before concluding that a demon’s regenerative energy was limited.
  • Tanjiro prayed for the Hand Demon’s victims, reclaimed his Nichirin Blade, and heard Zongyan explain that he was leaving to reassure his family.
  • Zongyan said goodbye to Tanjiro and headed through the demon-filled forest, deciding to capture a demon for his clansmen to study.
  • Zongyan subdued a demon attacking a boy, bound it with rope, and carried it into a secluded part of the mountain.
  • Zongyan summoned the Multiverse Portal and stepped through with the captured demon.

Ch. 45Daily life in the Land of Rice Fields

Uchiha Zongyan returned from the Demon Slayer World with a captured demon and brought it to Uchiha Yashiro at the clan’s outpost in the Land of Rice Fields. After leaving the demon for study and learning that the clan’s covert control of the land remained undetected, Zongyan urged Yashiro to continue strengthening the clan before returning home.

  • Zongyan confirmed the captured demon had survived the transfer between worlds and traveled to the Uchiha outpost in the Land of Rice Fields.
  • Uchiha Ren and Uchiha Toru praised Zongyan’s contributions and discussed whether he might someday become Clan Head over Itachi.
  • Zongyan delivered the demon to Uchiha Yashiro and explained that it regenerated by feeding on humans.
  • Yashiro proposed feeding the demon condemned criminals so he could test its abilities and put them to use.
  • Yashiro briefed Zongyan on the Land of Rice Fields, and Zongyan told him to maintain their plans while the clan grew stronger.
  • Zongyan used the Reverse Summoning Technique to return to the clan.

Ch. 46Danzo's conspiracy

Danzo ordered Root to investigate the Uchiha after their repeated arrests of Shimura clansmen. Meanwhile, Zongyan brought Itachi to visit the imprisoned Shisui, where Itachi revealed that he had always worked in the Anbu for the Uchiha Clan.

  • Danzo learned that Uchiha Zongyan had detained Shimura clansmen for the ninth time that month and ordered Root to monitor every Uchiha and track the clan's supplies.
  • After finishing his Police Force shift, Zongyan met Itachi, who had returned from an Anbu rotation and asked to see Shisui.
  • Zongyan warned Itachi that Shisui remained dangerous despite having his chakra sealed, then escorted him to the secret chamber where Shisui was restrained.
  • Itachi told Shisui that he still believed Konoha's high command had committed crimes against the Uchiha, and Shisui questioned whether Itachi had changed his former convictions.
  • Itachi said his younger brother had made him value his family and clan above the village's greater cause, and revealed that he had joined the Anbu to gather intelligence and protect the Uchiha.

Ch. 47Itachi and Shisui's confrontation

Itachi confronted Shisui over his plan to prevent an Uchiha coup and challenged the village-first assumptions behind it. Shisui revealed his Mangekyō ability, Kotoamatsukami, and Itachi left him questioning whether his proposed solution was just.

  • Shisui feared that an Uchiha coup would bring war to Konoha and invite attacks from the other great villages.
  • Itachi argued that the Uchiha might gain enough power to defeat an entire shinobi village, then asked whether Shisui had a bloodless way to stop the unrest.
  • Shisui revealed that Kotoamatsukami could permanently rewrite a target's will without their awareness.
  • Shisui said he had planned to use Kotoamatsukami on Clan Head Fugaku to make him abandon the coup and preserve both the Uchiha and Konoha.
  • Itachi argued that changing Fugaku's will would not erase the clan's persecution and asked why Shisui would not use the jutsu on Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo instead.
  • Shisui rejected manipulating Konoha's rulers as an assault on the village, while Itachi condemned his willingness to alter the Uchiha clan head's will.

Ch. 48The Demon Slayer World Awaiting Development

Itachi challenged Shisui Uchiha's loyalty to Konoha, leaving him questioning his convictions while Zongyan urged continued efforts to win him over. Zongyan then revealed a gateway to another world to Fugaku and Itachi and began explaining its demons and potential resources for the clan.

  • Itachi accused Shisui Uchiha of selfishness and left him questioning why he had considered altering Clan Head Fugaku's thoughts but not Lord Third's.
  • Zongyan urged Itachi to keep persuading Shisui Uchiha so that Kotoamatsukami could become an asset to the clan.
  • Zongyan told Fugaku and Itachi that he had visited another world and proposed using its resources to support the Uchiha Clan.
  • Zongyan clarified that the gateway led beyond the Shinobi World, and Fugaku stopped Itachi from pressing him about its secret origins.
  • Zongyan described the Demon Slayer World, its lack of chakra and ninjutsu, and the conflict between man-eating demons and Demon Slayers.
  • Zongyan explained that Muzan Kibutsuji had lived for a thousand years and could use his blood to create demons with powerful bodies, healing abilities, and strange powers.

Ch. 49Explaining the Demon Slayer World to Uchiha Itachi

Zongyan explained the Demon Slayer World’s powers and dangers to Fugaku and Itachi, then proposed using the Sharingan to control its rulers and having Shisui use Kotoamatsukami on Muzan. After Fugaku and Itachi agreed to pursue the plan, Zongyan summoned the portal and Fugaku prepared to travel with him and Itachi.

  • Zongyan described demons’ weaknesses and explained that peak demon slayers could reach Kage Level strength, though most who unlocked the Transparent World died before turning twenty-five.
  • Fugaku questioned whether the Uchiha could safely exploit the Demon Slayer World, and Zongyan explained that ordinary people controlled its countries, armies, and wealth.
  • Itachi realized the Uchiha could use genjutsu to take control of the rulers, while Zongyan proposed controlling Muzan with Shisui’s Kotoamatsukami and commanding the demons.
  • Itachi worried that Shisui, who was imprisoned and still loyal to the Will of Fire, would refuse to cooperate, so Zongyan asked him to persuade Shisui patiently.
  • Itachi agreed to try to win Shisui over, and Zongyan summoned the Demon Slayer World portal.
  • Fugaku agreed to travel through the portal with Zongyan and Itachi after leaving a letter for his wife and the Clan Elders.

Ch. 50The Shinobi World's Trio Takes Action

Zongyan, Fugaku, and Uchiha Itachi entered a chakra-less world and agreed to control its rulers and collect iron tribute. Itachi reached Japan, learned about demons and the Demon Slayer Corps by using genjutsu on a woodcutter, and began planning his next move.

  • Zongyan brought Fugaku and Uchiha Itachi to Mount Fujikasane in another world, where they found no chakra.
  • The three agreed to split up, use genjutsu to control the rulers of different countries, and meet again in a month.
  • Fugaku proposed that each country provide tribute equal to twenty percent of its iron output every three months.
  • Itachi traveled through the forest and used his Sharingan genjutsu to learn about Japan from a woodcutter named Yamada Tarō.
  • Itachi discovered that demons preyed on people and that the secret Demon Slayer Corps hunted them with Nichirin Blades.

Ch. 51Itachi's solitary journey

Itachi traveled to Tokyo and used genjutsu to control Japan’s leaders, military chiefs, and financial magnates, ordering them to expand mineral production and send twenty percent of the output to the Uchiha Clan. He then left Japan and spent a month imposing the same tribute policy on countries across Asia.

  • Itachi traveled toward Tokyo, observing the country’s advanced technology and prosperous ordinary life along the way.
  • Itachi entered Tokyo and placed Emperor Taishō, cabinet ministers, military leaders, and the heads of four financial conglomerates under genjutsu.
  • Itachi ordered Japan’s leaders to expand mining and industry and secretly transport twenty percent of the country’s mineral output every three months.
  • After completing his mission, Itachi left Japan and crossed the sea toward the Asian Continent.
  • Over the next month, Itachi used genjutsu to control leaders and financial magnates across Asia, making their countries adopt a policy of expanding mineral extraction and offering twenty percent of their monthly output as tribute.

Ch. 52The situation in the shinobi village

Zongyan, Uchiha Fugaku, and Uchiha Itachi returned from another world and learned that Danzo and Hiruzen Sarutobi had increased pressure on the Uchiha while they were away. Fugaku ordered the clan to limit losses and prepare teams to monitor the other world as the Uchiha planned their next moves.

  • Zongyan opened the Multiverse Portal, and he, Uchiha Fugaku, and Uchiha Itachi returned to the Shinobi World.
  • Fugaku told Uchiha Mikoto they were safe, then summoned Uchiha Inabi and Uchiha Tekka to discuss the clan's situation.
  • Uchiha Inabi and Uchiha Tekka reported that Danzo had deployed Root operatives to watch the Clan Grounds and spread rumors that the Uchiha were plotting rebellion.
  • Fugaku ordered the Uchiha to reduce missions and deaths while assigning two elite four-man squads to monitor leaders and Demon Slayers in the other world.
  • Zongyan promised the clan could eventually gain control over the Shinobi World, and Uchiha Inabi and Uchiha Tekka left to recruit squad members and prepare for deployment.

Ch. 53Who would receive the Rumble-Rumble Fruit

Uchiha Zongyan drew the Rumble-Rumble Fruit but decided not to eat it because of its weakness to water. He offered it to Sasuke instead, who eagerly agreed to accept the power and keep it secret.

  • Zongyan used his system draw and obtained the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.
  • Zongyan rejected eating the fruit because its sea curse could leave him powerless in water, then decided Sasuke could use it to protect their family.
  • After breakfast, Itachi went to spend time with Shisui, while Zongyan took Sasuke toward the Ninja Academy.
  • Zongyan explained the fruit's lightning powers and its swimming drawback, and Sasuke insisted he still wanted it.
  • Zongyan told Sasuke to meet him after his duty and keep the offer secret, and Sasuke promised to obey.

Ch. 54Muzan's whereabouts

After Uchiha Toru located Muzan posing as a wealthy merchant in Asakusa, Zongyan prepared to go with Itachi to the Otherworld and try to capture him alive. He sent a letter to his father and the Rumble-Rumble Fruit to Sasuke, then waited for Itachi.

  • A clansman summoned Zongyan from his patrol, and Uchiha Toru reported that his team had found Muzan disguised as the merchant Tsukihiko in Asakusa, Tokyo.
  • Toru explained how the team had covertly searched the city and confirmed Muzan's identity after witnessing him turn an ordinary person into a demon.
  • Zongyan decided he needed Itachi's help to capture Muzan before he escaped into the Infinity Castle, and sent a clansman to fetch his older brother.
  • Zongyan wrote his parents a letter explaining the plan and prepared the Rumble-Rumble Fruit for Sasuke, noting that Sasuke had to eat the whole fruit.
  • Zongyan summoned Hachi and paid him to deliver the letter to his father and the wooden box to Sasuke that night, then waited for Itachi.

Ch. 55What did you take life for?

Zongyan and Uchiha Itachi traveled to Asakusa to capture Muzan Kibutsuji, with Uchiha Ren guiding them. Zongyan used the image of Yoriichi Tsugikuni to frighten Muzan into fleeing, but Muzan attacked the nearby crowd as he escaped.

  • Zongyan told Uchiha Itachi that their clansmen had located Muzan Kibutsuji in Asakusa, and Itachi agreed to help capture him.
  • Zongyan and Uchiha Itachi crossed the Multiverse Portal, met Uchiha Ren, and persuaded him to guide them to Muzan despite his warning about the demon's strength.
  • The three reached Asakusa, joined another clansman in hiding, and watched Muzan leave his home with a woman and a little girl.
  • Zongyan revealed himself and shouted Muzan's name, then used his dōjutsu to appear as Yoriichi Tsugikuni.
  • Muzan panicked, threw the little girl at Zongyan, injected his blood into people in the crowd, and fled.

Ch. 56Trouble began brewing in the Infinity Castle

Zongyan and the Uchiha pursued Muzan into the Infinity Castle, where they used a chakra mark to track him despite Nakime changing the corridors. Muzan summoned demons and the surviving Twelve Kizuki to block their advance.

  • Zongyan cut the demon-blood-infected passersby and chased Muzan as Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Ren, and another clansman moved to surround him.
  • Muzan realized Zongyan was not Yoriichi Tsugikuni and ordered Nakime to pull the pursuers into the Infinity Castle.
  • Zongyan and the three Uchiha landed in the castle and formed a defensive group before Zongyan revealed he had marked Muzan with chakra.
  • Zongyan led the group toward Muzan while they broke through obstacles and ignored Nakime's attempts to redirect the corridors.
  • Muzan ordered Nakime to summon demons and the surviving Twelve Kizuki, and they appeared ahead of the group as Muzan commanded them to kill.

Ch. 57The Demon Slayer Corps barges in

Muzan summoned the Twelve Kizuki and countless demons to trap Zongyan and three Uchiha in the Infinity Castle. The Demon Slayer Corps was suddenly transported there and joined the battle, allowing Zongyan’s group to head for Muzan while the Corps fought the demons.

  • Zongyan and the other Uchiha defended themselves against the Twelve Kizuki and a swarm of demons, using fire and Murasame to hold back the attackers.
  • Rengoku Kyotaro, Shinobu Kocho, Muichiro Tokito, Tanjiro, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Giyu Tomioka, and other Corps members appeared in the Infinity Castle after being transported from their hunts.
  • Tanjiro and Rengoku charged into the demon tide, and the other Demon Slayer Corps members followed with their Nichirin Blades and Breathing Styles.
  • Zongyan recognized the Corps’ arrival as a chance to capture Muzan and told them the Infinity Castle was the Demon King’s stronghold.
  • Zongyan withdrew with Zong You and the others, leaving the demons and Twelve Kizuki to the Corps as they hurried toward Muzan.

Ch. 58The Demon Slayer Corps Battles the Upper Ranks to the Death

The Demon Slayer Corps confronted the Upper Ranks to clear the way for Zongyan and his companions to reach Muzan. The Hashira and their allies engaged the demons across the Infinity Castle, while Daki’s decapitation brought Gyutaro into the battle against Tengen Uzui and the three youngsters.

  • Akaza, Doma, Hantengu, Gyokko, and Daki blocked Zongyan and his companions, but the Hashira and other Demon Slayer Corps members broke through and engaged the Upper Ranks.
  • Kyojuro Rengoku urged Zongyan and his companions onward, and Zongyan led Uchiha Itachi and the others toward the deepest reaches of the Infinity Castle.
  • Rengoku clashed head-on with Akaza, Shinobu Kocho attacked Doma, Muichiro Tokito and Obanai Iguro fought Hantengu, and Gyomei Himejima and Sanemi Shinazugawa battled Gyokko.
  • Tengen Uzui and the three youngsters fought Daki, and Tengen cut off her head.
  • Daki called for Gyutaro, who emerged from her body, lifted her head, and attacked Tengen and the youngsters.

Ch. 59One step away from Muzan

Zongyan and his companions reached Muzan Kibutsuji’s hiding place while Uchiha Itachi stayed behind to fight Kokushibo. Zongyan’s cursed blade forced Muzan to sacrifice infected flesh, but Muzan prepared to fight back after his escape routes were blocked.

  • Uchiha Itachi stayed in the corridor to face Kokushibo, and the two began battling with Moon Breathing and ninjutsu.
  • Zongyan led Uchiha Ren and another clansman through Infinity Castle to Muzan Kibutsuji’s hall.
  • Muzan mocked the intruders, but Zongyan taunted him about fleeing and provoked him into attacking.
  • Zongyan cut Muzan’s tendrils with Murasame, and its curse poison spread through the severed flesh.
  • Muzan repeatedly discarded infected flesh as Zongyan attacked, while Uchiha Ren and the other clansman blocked his exits with Fire Release Ninjutsu.
  • With escape impossible, Muzan’s flesh swelled and tendrils burst from his body as he prepared to slaughter them.

Ch. 60The Demon King's Submission

Zongyan defeated Muzan by repeatedly poisoning and weakening him with Murasame, then forced him to submit rather than kill him. Muzan obeyed Zongyan’s first orders, ending the fighting in the Infinity Castle and bringing Uchiha Itachi there.

  • Zongyan and the Uchiha fighters coordinated their attacks, while Murasame’s cursed poison destroyed Muzan’s flesh and weakened his Blood Demon Arts.
  • Muzan became terrified as he shed poisoned flesh, and Zongyan demanded that he submit or die.
  • Muzan agreed to submit, and Zongyan ordered him to stop the demons from fighting, summon his companion, and banish the Demon Slayer Corps from the Infinity Castle.
  • Muzan sent his commands, causing the demons to retreat and the Demon Slayer Corps members to be banished; Uchiha Itachi arrived and stood beside Zongyan.
  • Muzan reported that he had completed the orders, and Zongyan told him he had more tasks to perform.
