Main World.
Summer, Konoha year 19.
Land of Wind, Sunagakure border.
Yellow sand filled the sky, and waves of heat rolled through the air. Second Kazekage Shamon stood on a dune, the shattered remains of dozens of puppets behind him. His face was ashen, his breathing rapid, and his eyes full of disbelief. On the sand before him stood a pink-haired woman-Sakura Haruno.
Her training clothes were covered in sand and dust, but her breathing was steady and her gaze calm, as though the battle that had just destroyed dozens of puppets had been nothing more than a warm-up.
"Still want to fight?"
Sakura Haruno spoke softly, but every word was perfectly clear.
Shamon gritted his teeth and said nothing.
His puppet force was his life's work. Every one of those puppets was worth a fortune, designed and built with his own hands. Now they were all shattered. This woman's fists had smashed them apart, one punch at a time.
"Retreat."
Shamon's voice was hoarse.
"Lord Kazekage!"
A Sunagakure Jonin cried out.
"I said retreat!"
Shamon turned and walked toward the Land of Wind.
His retreating figure looked especially bedraggled amid the yellow sand.
Sakura Haruno watched him go and shook her head.
"Too weak."
She turned and walked toward Konoha.
Land of Lightning, Kumogakure border.
Thunderclouds blanketed the sky, lightning flashed, and thunder roared. Second Raikage A stood on a wasteland torn apart by an earthquake, his Lightning Release Armor covered in cracks and a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth. Opposite him, Sakura Haruno stood at the edge of a rift, her hands behind her back and her manner composed.
"Still want to fight?"
Sakura Haruno's voice was calm.
A did not answer. His chest still ached faintly where Sakura Haruno's punch had struck
