Main World.
Year 24 of Konoha, autumn.
British Continent, New Capital.
Imperial Palace, Consort Jin's bedchamber.
Autumn sunlight streamed through the gauze curtains, casting golden patches on the floor. Tsunade lay in bed, her face pale and her forehead covered in sweat, but her eyes shone. In her arms, she held a newborn baby-black newborn hair, fair skin, tightly closed eyes, and little hands curled into fists beside his mouth. The baby was quiet. He did not cry, only slept.
Toyotomi Yinglang sat beside the bed, holding a cup of hot tea, a faint smile on his lips. He watched the baby with a calm gaze, as though looking at a work he had just completed.
"Toyotomi Liying," he recited the name. "Liying means 'a rational hero.' May he be wise with reason and outstanding in heroism."
The corner of Tsunade's mouth twitched. "Why are all the names you come up with so... serious?"
"Having meaning doesn't make them serious," Toyotomi Yinglang said with a smile.
Tsunade sighed.
"Liying... Liying..." She lowered her head and looked at the baby in her arms. "Do you like the name your father gave you?"
The baby let out an "Ah, ah" in his sleep. There was no telling what he was saying.
But Tsunade knew he was saying, "I like it."
A month later.
Imperial Palace, the Consort Ying's bedchamber.
Sakura Haruno lay in bed, her face pale, but her eyes shone. In her arms, she held a newborn baby-black newborn hair, fair skin, tightly closed eyes, and little hands grasping at the air, as though reaching for something invisible. The baby was quieter than Liying, neither crying nor fussing, only sleeping.
Toyotomi Yinglang sat beside the bed, holding a cup of hot tea, a faint smile on his lips.
"Toyotomi Chengkong,"
