Kushina sat in the pavilion. The tea before her had been replaced with another pot and was still warm. She had not drunk any. She had been sitting in the same chair for some time, her gaze resting on the vines outside that the wind kept stirring, but her focus was elsewhere. She seemed to be waiting for a thought she had yet to fully shape to find its place.
When Toyotomi Yinglang walked in, she did not immediately turn her gaze away. Only after he sat down did she turn toward him, her voice quiet, as though confirming something she had been considering for days. "Yinglang, you have the ability to see and travel to parallel worlds. Can you tell me what the future holds for the Shinobi World?"
Toyotomi Yinglang leaned back in his chair without answering directly. He watched the vines outside for a while, then said, "I know of a Shinobi World where I never existed, from beginning to end. You can take a look." Without waiting for her agreement, he reached out and pressed his hand against her forehead.
Kushina felt a faint coolness spread outward from the point of contact, and then her field of vision changed-not her own sight, but images from another timeline overlaying what she currently saw. A history that had yet to happen, but had already run its course along another path, flowed across the surface of her consciousness.
