"Wait, Lady Shima! We can't kill them. Finding the person behind them is what matters!"
Jiraiya swept out an arm, blocking Shima's path.
Shima snapped, "What are you stopping me for? Didn't you summon me to sort things out?"
Fukasaku urged, "Ma, don't get so worked up. You'll get more wrinkles... Anyway, little Jiraiya, how did you discover the Rinnegan, and why are you fighting them?"
Jiraiya sighed and said softly, "The person hiding behind them, the one who truly possesses the Rinnegan... was once my student."
"Hmm?"
Shima and Fukasaku both widened their eyes in shock.
"We've never heard you had a student like that! If it's true, then could he be...?!"
There was a prophecy concerning Jiraiya's student.
The Toad Sage had once prophesied that Jiraiya would become an outstanding ninja and have a disciple capable of standing on his own, one who would even bring tremendous change to the Shinobi World in the future.
In other words, the Child of Prophecy.
That tremendous change could be good or bad. The world would either find peace or be destroyed.
All because of him.
The Toad Sage's prophecies had never been wrong.
Fukasaku and Shima believed in them without question.
Shima knitted her brows and asked quietly, "He possesses the legendary Rinnegan, and he's your disciple! Then he's most likely the Child of Prophecy that muddleheaded old master spoke of. Why are you fighting him?"
Jiraiya said, "Because he hasn't grown in the right direction... From what I've seen so far, he's definitely someone who could bring destruction to the world, and he has the power to do it."
At those words, a fierce look crossed Fukasaku's and Shima's faces, and the killing intent in their eyes grew stronger.
This was no small matter!
They would never allow this
