Lu Yanting raised his eyelids and looked over coldly. "Does this need to be burned to ash and swallowed too?"
"No need for that much trouble." Jian Ran smiled. "Just hold it tight."
"Then what's different between the one you gave me last time and this one?" Lu Yanting laid a trap.
Jian Ran walked right into it. "Nothing."
He regretted it the moment he finished speaking, because Lu Yanting's gaze had visibly frosted over.
Damn, a miscalculation!
I forgot I deliberately made him drink it the first time!
Jian Ran put on an awkward yet still badass smile, wanting to make excuses-no, offer an explanation-but the host's grating voice cut in.
"What are you two whispering about?! I'm telling you, no sneaking in personal items or props!"
Jian Ran seized the opportunity to change the subject and glared at Wei Xiaoxue. "Try adding rules on a whim again, and see if I don't wreck your whole game table!"
"You-" Wei Xiaoxue was so thoroughly shut down that she only managed one word.
This was the first time she had ever seen anyone dare threaten to wreck the game table!
She had been dead for ages, and this was still a fucking first!
The Teaching Building's broadcast sounded at just the right moment. [Just this once. No exceptions next time.]
Wei Xiaoxue looked up at the speaker in disbelief. "..." You're giving in just like that?!
When Jian Ran turned back to Lu Yanting, the latter had already closed his eyes, seemingly fallen into a deep sleep.
The guests were all tense, their eyes fixed on Emperor Lu, especially Class Monitor Zheng Huai, who silently clenched his fists, thinking he could rush up and throw a few punches at a critical moment.
That would count as saving his life, right?
