"You're back?"
Pei Hanmo had just opened the door when he heard Chu Xinghui's voice from the kitchen.
Then Chu Xinghui came out of the kitchen with a spatula:
"Xiao Mo, did you have exams recently?
How were your grades?"
At the sight of Chu Xinghui, Pei Hanmo frowned and asked:
"You didn't go to the bar today?"
"Ah..."
Caught off guard by Pei Hanmo's question, Chu Xinghui walked back into the kitchen, giving an evasive answer:
"Well, your grades came out... so I thought I'd come back early and ask... you know."
"Did those people bully you again?"
Pei Hanmo folded his arms and leaned against the doorframe, resting his gaze lightly on Chu Xinghui as he suppressed the anger in his eyes.
Chu Xinghui would never come home early for no reason, unless someone at the bar had bullied him.
"Hey! Kids don't get a say in grown-up matters."
Chu Xinghui turned around and met Pei Hanmo's gaze, pointing the spatula at him:
"Stay out of this. Did you forget how you got lost last time you came to the bar to find me?"
Seeing that Chu Xinghui was unwilling to talk, Pei Hanmo didn't press him. He turned around, took the exam papers out of his schoolbag, and set them on the table.
Then he turned away, went back to his room, and locked the door.
Whatever. He would get revenge tonight anyway.
A little while later, after finishing the cooking, Chu Xinghui knocked on Pei Hanmo's door:
"Xiao Mo, dinner's ready. Are you doing homework?"
To support Pei Hanmo, Chu Xinghui had dropped out of school early and sung at a local bar.
