He was just about to turn back when Chu Xinghui suddenly caught his clothes.
"Chu Xinghui?"
He tilted his head and looked at Chu Xinghui, his eyes full of confusion.
I'm going to get revenge for him. Is even that not allowed?
"Don't go..."
Chu Xinghui was still caught up in those memories, his voice extremely faint:
"I... won't let you go!"
They were all adults there. Pei Hanmo was just a child. How could he beat them?
Besides, even if he could, he would have to use toxins. Murder wasn't something he could simply serve time for and get out.
"Chu Xinghui!"
Pei Hanmo gripped Chu Xinghui's shoulders, his eyes bloodshot:
"You've been bullied, and I can't even get back at them for you?
I'm not a child anymore! Look at me!"
He straightened Chu Xinghui's face, and their eyes met:
"I've grown up. I can handle things on my own."
Of course Chu Xinghui knew Pei Hanmo had grown up.
But in his eyes, Pei Hanmo was still that little boy who followed him around.
Besides, they were still renting their home. They simply didn't have the means to risk their lives fighting other people.
After resting for a while, Chu Xinghui stood up from beside the wall and slapped away Pei Hanmo's hands on his shoulders:
"Come on, let's go home. My savings will last until your college entrance exam. I'll stay with you through it."
Chu Xinghui had excellent grades, but he hadn't attended the university he had gotten into. For one thing, he couldn't afford tuition. Even if he took out a loan for his own tuition, there would be no one to pay Pei Hanmo's.
"All right, my boss fired me today. Let's have a little drink."
Chu Xinghui walked ahead with Pei Hanmo
