"To... tonight?"
Pei Hanmo was startled by Chu Xinghui's words and said:
"Th-that wouldn't be a good idea, would it?"
What was he planning?
Coming straight to his home?
"Could you teach me how to portray Wen Qinglin... or could we hire an acting coach?"
Chu Xinghui asked.
Actually, the director was right. Chu Xinghui acted solely on his past experience, which had all been in short dramas. Unless he could rely on a particular character's personality, he had no way of delivering a moving performance.
"Oh, that."
Pei Hanmo sounded disappointed:
"No problem, Older Brother. Come over whenever you like."
But if he was coming over... the place would need tidying up.
After all, a whole wall of photos might scare Chu Xinghui.
"Chu Xinghui!"
The director had been shooting the other actors' costume test photos when he suddenly came running out of the room:
"Your opera teacher's here! Come greet him!"
He hurried outside, followed by Chu Xinghui and Pei Hanmo.
A motorized tricycle was parked outside, with an old man sitting on it. When he saw Director Guo approach, he slowly climbed down:
"I told you there was no need to come meet me. Why did you come anyway?"
"Oh, why did you ride your tricycle here again? We're worried about you!"
Director Guo stepped forward and respectfully helped the old man down, shooting Chu Xinghui a look over his shoulder.
Chu Xinghui immediately stepped forward too, joining Director Guo in helping the old man down.
The old man looked up at Chu Xinghui, surprise and delight appearing in his eyes:
"Is this Wen Qinglin?"
"No, no, this is the actor playing Wen Qinglin. His name is Chu Xinghui."
Director Guo explained from beside him.
"Oh..."
The surprise and delight immediately vanished from the old man's face.
