Deep within Dark Moon Headquarters, an ancient palace that had been sealed for years reopened that day.
There was little decoration inside the palace. Dozens of black stone pillars extended to the vaulted ceiling, and at its farthest end stood only a pitch-black throne.
It was the most special seat in all of Dark Moon Headquarters. Apart from the Moon Lord, not even Ye Wuhen, First Seat of the Moon Envoys, had ever sat upon it.
Now, Ye Wuhen and all seven Moon Envoys had arrived.
Minghe, Blood Banquet, Blade Demon, Yinshuang, Phantom, Withered Bones, and Ghost Pupil stood in order along both sides of the hall. No one spoke.
Since Dark Moon's founding, the Moon Lord's true public appearances could be counted on one hand.
The vast majority of the organization's members knew only that Dark Moon had such a true leader. Even among the seven Moon Envoys, not everyone had seen his true face.
Ye Wuhen had followed the Moon Lord the longest, yet even he had not seen him for many years.
Time ticked by in the hall.
Then, at a certain moment, Ye Wuhen suddenly sensed something.
He raised his head and looked ahead.
At some unknown point, a person had appeared on the previously empty black throne.
No one had seen where he had entered from, nor had anyone sensed any spatial fluctuations.
It was as though he had been sitting there from the very beginning.
The man looked to be in his thirties. He wore a moon-white robe, his black hair falling behind his shoulders. His appearance was nowhere near as extravagant as everyone had imagined.
Yet when his gaze swept across the hall, everyone, including Ye Wuhen, instinctively reined in their auras.
