"You ranked up?"
The Saber-toothed Thunder Tiger chuckled, though a demonic beast's grin looked rather ferocious.
"A few days ago, a giant python invaded my territory and tried to take my mountain. I killed him, then swallowed his Demon Core. I slept for a week and broke through when I woke up."
He shook his head proudly.
"I'm S-rank now, too! Only early-stage, but I'm much stronger than before!"
Lin Jin nodded slightly.
"Perfect. Go on, let me see how strong you are after ranking up."

The Saber-toothed Thunder Tiger shrank back. "I only just ranked up. I'm still early-stage, and he's at least late-stage. I can't beat him..."
Lin Jin shook his head. In a flash, he landed at the edge of the valley.
"This is your fight. I'll only support you from the sidelines. Keep taking the lead."
"All right!" the Saber-toothed Thunder Tiger roared, gathering himself to strike again.
"Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld!"
Lin Jin pressed both hands against the ground, pouring chakra furiously into it.
The frozen earth beneath the Thunder-Horned Demon Ape's feet instantly softened into an enormous swamp.
Waves of mud churned, trapping the Thunder-Horned Demon Ape's legs deep within.
The Thunder-Horned Demon Ape roared and tried to struggle free, but the Swamp of the Underworld's suction was extremely powerful. Every movement only sank his body deeper.
The Saber-toothed Thunder Tiger's eyes lit up. Seizing the opportunity, he pounced and bit down on the Thunder-Horned Demon Ape's arm, pouring lightning into him.
In pain, the Thunder-Horned Demon Ape swung his other arm, bringing a fist down toward the Saber-toothed Thunder Tiger.
Lin Jin formed hand seals again.
"Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet!"
The ground rose into an enormous earthen dragon, which opened its mouth and spat countless mud projectiles at the Thunder-Horned Demon Ape like a torrential downpour.
