In the Hokage's Office, Hiruzen Sarutobi puffed on his pipe,
looking at Danzo before him in puzzlement.
"Danzo, you're saying you want to go to the battlefield?"
Danzo kept his eyes narrowed.
"Yes."
Hiruzen Sarutobi continued smoking.
"There's no need for you right now. Every front has stabilized."
Danzo finally opened his eyes a little and looked at Hiruzen Sarutobi.
"Monkey, I want to go to the battlefield."
Hiruzen Sarutobi continued smoking as he scrutinized Danzo, unable to work out what he was trying to do.
When Hiruzen Sarutobi said nothing, Danzo grew anxious.

Seeing Hiruzen Sarutobi's disbelief, Danzo grew angry and slammed the desk.
"Monkey, can't you understand what I'm saying?
I want to go to the battlefield. I want to earn merit and make a name for myself."
"Oh, earn merit and make a name for yourself?

Go if you want."
Hiruzen Sarutobi's indifferent attitude nearly drove Danzo mad.
"Monkey, I've told you not to think like a monkey. You're a human being.
Listen carefully. I want to go to the battlefield.
With official papers, not sneaking around gathering intelligence."
Only after being shouted at did Hiruzen Sarutobi look at Danzo seriously.
"Danzo, don't do anything reckless. Konoha can't afford a fifth front."
Danzo slammed the desk again.
"I'm not opening a new front. I know you wouldn't agree to that anyway, Monkey."
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded.
"Then where do you want to go?
I'm telling you, Danzo, the northwest has already stabilized. Don't go stirring
