The first lesson.
For the Sun Moon Continent's first international student, Yi Hongchen gave special instruction, introducing the Sun Moon Empire's history to foster a sense of cultural identity.
On the surface, Lin Qian listened as though he had attained profound enlightenment. In reality, his heart was as still as water. It wasn't worth a damn.
Before the continental plates collided, the Sun Moon Empire had no wars, and its history was decidedly lackluster. It made listeners drowsy and offered nothing nourishing. Lin Qian barely sat through it, concluding that it wasn't as thrilling as Soul Masters fighting.
Still, he could tell that the other students were brimming with pride, as though they had personally lived through their forebears' extraordinary years of expanding their territory, combed by the wind and bathed in rain.
They really loved their country!
No wonder their technology left the nations of Douluo several streets behind. With that kind of drive, what couldn't they accomplish?
Yi Hongchen finished and set down his textbook. "Our national history is already a well-worn subject. Is anyone interested in learning about history abroad?"
The students said, "History abroad?"
Yi Hongchen nodded. "I'm sure you've all heard the prediction made by the former master of Bright Virtue Hall, a Level 9 Soul Engineer. Far to the east lies a land inhabited by another group of humans. It is called-the Douluo Continent."
The name sent the entire classroom into an uproar.
Only a small number of the empire's higher-ups knew of Lin Qian's arrival. Others, such as these students, were almost all hearing about it for the first time.
Lin Qian observed carefully and found that only Xu Xiuxiu and Yue Hongchen showed no reaction. Zhong Lixuan and Du Desi were somewhat surprised, but not very.
