Morning light fell over the Pagoda Forest deep within the Precious Thoroughfare Zen Monastery, making it glitter like white gems. The vegetable garden at the foot of the mountain remained as quiet as ever.
Tonglu opened his eyes and woke. Looking at the dim walls and smelling the vegetable oil in the air, he felt somewhat bewildered.
It took him some time to fully wake and roughly understand his present circumstances. With some difficulty, he propped himself up into a sitting position.
He suddenly discovered a strange man sitting opposite him, his face green and his gaze exceedingly cold.
The strange man was, naturally, Su Ziye.
Su Ziye and Tonglu sat at opposite ends of the bed, staring at each other in silence. The atmosphere was decidedly bizarre.
Tonglu's face suddenly grew somewhat pale.
He tried to summon his flying sword to kill the other man, but failed.
Only then did he remember that his flying sword had broken the night before.
"You know me?"
Su Ziye had sensed his killing intent.
Tonglu said, "There are only two people on the entire Chaotian Continent who can be identified by their faces alone."
Su Ziye was a reincarnated demonic embryo whose body had been invaded by corpse poison. His green face naturally made him easy to recognize. He knew that, but who was the other person?
"The other one is Jing Jiu."
He Zhan walked in from outside.
