Huang Xiao prepared to travel to Dali while the women at the Heavenly Demon Sect mastered a combined saber-and-sword art and studied the Nine-Turn Heaven and Earth Heart Method. In Dali, Huang Xiao joined allies opposing the Taixuan Sect and arrived just as Yin Hua badly wounded Hong Yi.

As Huang Xiao prepared for the long absence, the four women exposed a Black Fire Sect plot at Khan Lusheng’s court and defeated its forces with Ran Chou’s help.

• Huang Xiao defeated Yin Hua and faced the First Deputy Sect Master, while Li Wujing killed Yin Hua and the Taixuan Sect’s remaining accusers.
• At the Imperial Palace, Sun Simiao persuaded Wu Longfeng to withdraw from Dali in exchange for information about the Seven Spirit Blades, and Wu Longfeng ordered Duan Siying’s line abandoned.

As the Seven Spirit Blades gathering approached, he reached Kaifeng, helped Zhao Yuankan purge court opponents, and learned Dugu Sheng and Li Wujing had vanished.

• Lusheng arrived to confront Gaimeng, and Ran Chou ordered a purge of those who had contacted the Black Fire Sect while sparing the thousand guards who had not attacked.
