After sharing their reflections, the two descended from their flying escape and strolled into the city on foot.

Watching Li Chuping turn and leave without another thought, Hou Niao reflected that, as his host, he ought at least to have brought him home so he knew where to find him, treated him to a meal, made some arrangements, and so on. Yet he had shown none of these most basic courtesies, as though Hou Niao were a god of pestilence...
A host and superior like this truly had no sense of responsibility whatsoever!

There was nothing for it but to feel his own way through these unfamiliar surroundings. The Jade Capital had a sword lodge that accommodated cultivators passing through from north and south. For one of their own, finding free lodging would be no problem.
But Hou Niao found a place himself. There was no other reason: it made things convenient. He could come and go freely, with no one to restrain him, and do some of those delightful things that benefited body and mind yet were forbidden by the Shanmen Code.
