The path to the Altar lay open, and Ye Li stepped forward without the slightest hesitation. With great care, he took the pure-white orb from the ice pedestal at the center of the Altar. Its surface radiated absolute-zero cold, freezing even the air around it.

The moment Ye Li held the orb in his hand, the Fire Orb and Thunder Orb in his pocket seemed to sense their companion's presence and gave off faint glows at the same time. Three powerful energies, utterly different in nature yet sharing the same origin, entered into a wondrous resonance within him.
At last, he had gathered all the tokens of the Legendary Birds.
Ye Li bowed solemnly to Articuno as it circled overhead, expressing his gratitude. Articuno answered with a clear, ringing cry, then settled back onto the Altar and fell asleep once more.
"Retreat!" Ye Li ordered the team behind him.
Yet just as they completed their mission and prepared to retrace their steps-

The enormous ice cavern suddenly shook violently without warning. Countless massive icicles broke loose from the vaulted ceiling and plunged like swords, striking the ground with deafening crashes.
A powerful presence that did not belong to the Legendary Birds surged toward them like a tide from the cave entrance they had come through. It was stranger and more chilling, as though it came from the depths of the underworld.
Everyone's heart tightened. They immediately took up fighting stances and looked warily toward the entrance.
There, in the shadows of the entrance, where reflected ice crystals cast bizarre patterns of light, several figures emerged silently like phantoms.
Leading them was a short, wrinkled old woman leaning on an unusual cane. A cold smile that sent chills down one's spine lingered on her face.
