The firelight was like a red sun in water, swiftly lighting the entire sky above the Ruins of Zhangshi as though flames had scorched the heavens.
The Glazed Color formation, too, was illuminated with a faint fiery-red glow.
The formation spun rapidly, then sprayed streams of light of various colors, striking back at the monks.
Some Arhats were caught off guard and struck. Their golden bodies shattered, Demonic Qi scattered, and in the blink of an eye, they withered and died.
The cultivators of the Ruins of Zhangshi came from diverse backgrounds and possessed a multitude of methods. Some used Orthodox Dao methods, but many also employed the Yin Domain Tricks of Unorthodox Ways.
This sudden, unexpected ambush naturally inflicted some losses on the monks.
Meanwhile, the firelight also burst out of the formation and slammed into several of the nearest Arhats.
Before those Arhats could even react, flames engulfed them, burning their golden bodies and Demonic Qi to nothing in the blink of an eye.
For a moment, silence fell both inside and outside the ruins!

The West Great Bodhisattva looked slightly surprised, but then nodded instead. Looking at the Little Novice Monk beside him, he said approvingly:
"You were right. These rogue cultivators are indeed somewhat surprising. Still, it matters little. Let them have a thousand schemes and ten thousand tricks; in the end, they are merely twigs and leaves."
The Little Novice Monk nodded at this, then watched the firelight darting and soaring in all directions. In the blink of an eye, it had slain more than a dozen Arhats, and a look of distress crossed his face:
"Master, why do you not capture this man? Why let the Arhats die for nothing?"
