The orc fleet sailed north. Orgrim gave his lieutenant Rend Blackhand an approving pat on the shoulder. "Where did you find those short, green-skinned creatures? Their workmanship is excellent."
Rend looked proud. Every contribution to the Horde was something every orc could take pride in. "They're creatures who call themselves goblins. They're naturally green-skinned and short. When we were organizing the construction of warships to advance north by sea, a goblin came ashore from a fleet and told me they could help us build a fleet, but we would have to pay them with the gems and metals we collected from human buildings."
Rend recalled how a goblin Trade Prince's support had been a timely lifeline for the orcs. They knew absolutely nothing about building or repairing dwarven ships, and Rend had no solution either. He could only order the orc peons to patch the damaged sections of the warships, then clear the accumulated water from their hulls, making the ships barely usable.
It was all thanks to these goblins' help. The orcs had plundered many weapons and pieces of equipment from Stormwind City, along with glowing stones and metals. The warlocks had taken some as spellcasting materials, while the remaining metals and gems were piled up in the logistics troops' warehouses. The orcs had not come to Azeroth intending to trade with humans. They had done nothing but slaughter their way forward from the Black Morass, and even Stormwind City had suffered a massacre. All that gold and silver could only sit there, utterly useless.
When they met the Trade Prince named Riverviz Kasil, who said he could help the Horde repair and build warships in exchange for the gold and silver the orcs considered worthless, Rend was overjoyed. He immediately agreed to Riverviz Kasil's demands, inwardly scoffing at
