The figure of Lucian quietly appeared at the door of a five-star hotel.
A piece of Gold Bar fell on the front desk. Just as the manager on duty was about to call security, he raised his head and met Lucian's eyes.
"Get me the best suite."
"Yes, sir."
The vigilance on the duty manager's face quickly disappeared, and he directly asked the waiter to check in without even asking for ID.
Several receptionists nearby saw this unconventional payment method, but they didn't show anything strange.
It's normal to take out Gold Bar for payment. It's normal to have no documents. Even if Lucian says now that he wants to buy this hotel, they will probably only ask if they need to prepare a contract.
After a few minutes, the door closed.
Lucian took off his coat and threw it on the sofa.
Although the goal has been set, the system upgrade has not been completed yet. It makes little sense to contact Eternals rashly now.
He sat in front of the hotel computer, entered a few names into the search box, and quickly deleted them.
The memory about Eternals is incomplete. He has only watched the movie, and many details have long been blurred. However, he can still roughly remember the origins and main abilities of those people.
Eternals is not a god in the true sense.
They are artificial synthetic life forms created by Celestials Arishem, and were sent to different planets to perform tasks. The so-called protection of intelligent life is only to allow the population on the planet to grow smoothly.
Because the energy generated by population growth will support Celestial Seed buried inside the planet.
When enough energy is accumulated, the new god will awaken from the center of the earth.
This process is called Emergence.
The result of Emergence is that the entire planet was torn apart from the inside.
"Tiamut."
Lucian leaned back on the chair and recalled in his heart.
The sleeping god inside the earth is Tiamut.
Eternals was sent to Earth with an apparent mission to eliminate Deviants and protect the development of human civilization, but in reality it was clearing obstacles for Tiamut's Emergence.
Protect humanity?
Really protected.
Once enough are protected, they can be used as food for hatching gods.
However, the current time point is 2012, which is still more than ten years before "Emergence" in the original plot, so there is plenty of time.
Battle of New York's movement was so loud that it was impossible for the ten Eternals members to be unaware of it. However, they did not show up. Apparently they were still following Arishem's order, prohibiting active armed intervention, and continued to live in seclusion in human society.
But what really interests Lucian is not their background, but Eternals itself.
The ten Eternals sent to Earth have different abilities.
Some people can control Cosmic Energy to launch light bombs, some have super speed, and some can create illusions.
Several of these abilities are quite useful.
But there are a few that are difficult to deal with.
Sersi can change the physical form, Druig can control thoughts, and Ikaris is the one with the strongest frontal combat effectiveness among Eternals, which is roughly equivalent to a little Superman.
So, it's best to look for them one by one.
"Look for the most conspicuous ones first."
Lucian sat up straight again and searched for the Indian Bollywood actor family on the computer.
After Eternals came to the earth, they had already been scattered all over the world and integrated into human society. Some got married, some preached, some lived in seclusion, and some directly became stars.
Kingo is the latter.
Because Eternals does not age, he just created a whole family of actors for himself in order to be active in Bollywood for a long time.
The father is him, the son is him, and the grandson is still him.
Change the name every few decades and claim it is a family inheritance.
"This saves trouble."
Lucian looked through the search results and quickly found several actor families that met the requirements.
The people in the photos span decades, and their facial features have not changed much, except for different hairstyles, beards and makeup.
It should not be difficult to find Kingo.
But he won't go there until the system upgrade is completed.
Kingo can release Cosmic Energy from both hands to fire light bombs. It is not the most powerful, but stable enough. It is just right to use it to test the upgraded ability of Copy.
Lucian Write down the information, turn off the computer, and lie back on the bed.
Now just need to wait.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Triskelion, Nick·Fury could not rest.
A screenshot of hotel surveillance was placed in the center of the conference room.
In the picture, Lucian walked into the hotel, stayed at the front desk for a minute, and then disappeared at the elevator entrance.
"He checked into the hotel?"
Alexander·Pierce raised his hand and knocked on the table.
"A person who can disappear at will and destroy alien fleets by himself stayed in a hotel New York?"
Fury stared at the screen with one eye.
"At least it means that he is not ready to leave the earth for the time being."
"Is this good news?"
"Better than him continuing to attack a country."
Fury called up another piece of information, but his mood was not much lighter.
Among Battle of New York, the power displayed by Lucian has completely exceeded the processing range of S.H.I.E.L.D.. What is even more troublesome is that both Tesseract and Mind Stone Scepter have fallen into his hands.
Tesseract was borrowed by Thor and will come back sooner or later.
There is no scepter.
That thing can control the mind, and Loki almost destroyed New York with it. The person holding the scepter now is a hundred times more dangerous in combat than Loki.
Fury doesn't like this feeling of losing control.
"We need to get in touch with him."
Pierce leaned back on the chair.
"No more observation, no more testing, just formal contact. Ask him clearly about his identity, purpose, and what he plans to do with the scepter."
Fury glanced at him.
"Who are you going to send to question him?"
"S.H.I.E.L.D. stands for World Security Council."
"Aliens don't care about the Council, and Pivot probably doesn't care either."
No one at the conference table answered the phone.
This is the most troublesome part.
Conventional deterrence is meaningless to Lucian. The military, agents, public opinion, and economic blockade, these means are only ridiculous when used against him.
Pierce was silent for a moment, and his face turned cold.
"So what's your advice? Let him take the most dangerous object on earth and hope he remains benevolent?"
"My advice is don't piss him off in stupid ways."
Fury Turn off projection.
"I will choose the right person to contact. It's not interrogation, it's negotiation."
"I hope you won't lose anything more in your negotiations."
Pierce stood up and left the conference room, maintaining a tough look on his face until the elevator door closed.
The numbers started to drop.
He took out a mobile phone that was not registered in the S.H.I.E.L.D. system and dialed the number.
"The scepter is confirmed to be in the hand of Pivot."
There was a pause on the other end of the phone for two seconds.
"Do I need to take it back?"
Pierce's eyelids twitched.
"Who is going to take it? You?"
There was no sound from the other side.
"Find a person with a clean identity and don't have anything to do with S.H.I.E.L.D., the Council, or any intelligence agency. Prepare enough weighty bargaining chips to test his needs first."
Pierce Lower your voice.
"You can't force this kind of person, you can only win him over. At least until we find a way to deal with him, he must think that we are friends."
The phone hangs up.
Half an hour later, a commission that had been thoroughly cleaned fell into a private consulting company named New York.
In the hotel suite, Lucian had just closed his eyes when the doorbell suddenly rang.
"Mr. Pivot."
The woman outside the door spoke.
"Someone wants to negotiate a business deal with you."
