Gravik's memories were amplified by Lucian's mind and shared with everyone.
The first memory took place in a dim bedroom.
Gravik stood beside the bed, watching a middle-aged white man sleeping soundly on it. The next second, Gravik reached out and clamped his hand over the man's mouth and nose. The man struggled wildly, his legs kicking against the sheets, until he stopped moving altogether.
Then Gravik's body began to change, his bones stretching and his skin changing color. In just a few seconds, he took on the dead man's appearance.
The scene shifted to the following morning.
Wearing the man's face, Gravik sat at the dining table and ate breakfast with the original man's wife, smiled as he ruffled the young daughter's hair, then brazenly walked into a senior military officer's office at the Pentagon.
The scenes changed rapidly.
Politicians, senior military officials, prominent media figures.
Living people were assassinated one after another, then replaced by these green-skinned monsters. They slept in the dead people's beds, held their lovers, and wielded their power.
"That's fucking disgusting." Pietro spat on the floor. "These things are more revolting than sewer rats."
Wanda turned away, unable to bear watching the oblivious smiles of the victims' families any longer. Her stomach churned.
Frowning, Simona quickly recorded the identities of those who had been replaced on her tablet.
The scene abruptly flashed, and the memories jumped back to 1995.
A young Black agent appeared in the scene. Back then, Nick Fury had yet to wear his signature eyepatch, and both his eyes were intact. Standing beside him was Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, her whole body glowing.
"Help me build Earth's extraterrestrial defense system, and in exchange, Carol and I will help you find a new home in the universe," the young Fury promised solemnly.
