News of the deaths of Sasori's Parents finally reached Sunagakure. Two of the village's foremost puppeteers had been killed just like that, sending enormous shock waves through the village. The Third Kazekage, hailed as the strongest in history, convened a meeting that very night to discuss making peace with Konoha. He had already sensed that Konoha's strength was far beyond what Sunagakure could currently contend with.

At the meeting, however, Chiyo cursed the Konoha White Fang like a madwoman and swore to tear him to pieces, utterly rejecting the Kazekage's peace plan. Left with no choice, the Kazekage issued a final ultimatum: they would muster all their strength for one last decisive battle against Konoha. If they won, they would push all the way into the Land of Fire; if they lost, they would lay down their arms and sign a peace agreement.

After the meeting, Chiyo immediately went to her secret laboratory and took out every deadly poison inside. The brutal deaths of Sasori's Parents had nearly robbed her of her reason. The first thing she thought of was the method Hanzō had used against Konoha. Following his example, she made all kinds of poison gas and even coated every puppet in deadly poison. She would make those Konoha ninja pay. White Fang had to die.

Staking everything, Sunagakure launched one fierce assault after another against Konoha on the battlefield. Chiyo's puppets, combined with deadly poison, proved especially formidable, driving Konoha back again and again for a time.

The Third Hokage immediately gathered the Sannin on the Sunagakure
