As soon as he arrived at Infinity Castle, Doma began considering how to report that he had "found nothing" to Muzan this time without making him quite so angry.
After turning it over in his mind, he realized none of it seemed to help.
Oh, no, it did help. At least it killed a little of the boring wait.
Doma: I did absolutely nothing, but thanks to me for all my hard work anyway.jpg
"Doma, can you and that so-called Eternal Paradise Cult of yours make yourselves useful for once?"
Just as Doma was entertaining himself inside his head, Muzan appeared before him, bringing his thoughts back to reality.
"My deepest apologies, Lord Muzan. My followers and I have done everything we can to search, but the Blue Spider Lily truly is exceedingly rare. Please grant us a little more time."
After more than a year of adjusting, Doma had grown accustomed to the anger simmering beneath Muzan's words. He had practically memorized his response. Not only was there no feeling in it, but now he could not even be bothered with technique.
He could not even be bothered to put on an act anymore.
Most of Muzan's anger came from having already glimpsed the contents of Doma's report, while some came from the latter's seemingly perpetual inability to take anything seriously.
It was only because Doma was fairly powerful himself and could at least serve as a decent fighter against the Demon Slayer Corps. Especially now that Akaza, once Muzan's favorite fighter to send on errands, had a failure on his record, Doma's strength stood out all the more.
Otherwise, Muzan would have obliterated this infuriating fellow long ago.
Doma in Muzan's eyes: Useless at everything, number one at infuriating his boss. His strength was his only redeeming feature.
