Divine Judgment was a life-risking technique Kanzaki Kumo had developed by combining Flame Breathing's Purgatory with his self-created Dragon's Roam, along with a technique that stimulated his heart to boost his physical capabilities for a short time.
Its defining feature was speed-speed that reached or even surpassed the current limits of Kanzaki Kumo's body, so fast that the dragon-shaped lightning that should have appeared was stretched out of shape into a beam of light.
In an instant, dazzling light erupted around Kanzaki Kumo, so bright that even Gyokko found it blinding and instinctively raised a hand to shield his eyes.
And in that very instant, Kanzaki Kumo seemed to become light.
When the blinding radiance vanished, Gyokko was just about to lower his hand and mock his opponent for making such a spectacle without accomplishing anything.
But he soon realized that his view was rising and flipping over, while the hand that had been shielding his eyes separated cleanly at the wrist.
As his view rotated, he saw his own utterly familiar body, only now it was missing its head.
"How... is this possible..."
He also saw the figure standing behind that body with a sword in hand, and the Nichirin Blade whose edge glowed red.
For some reason, though, his opponent simply stood there without moving.
But that did not matter.
"Die with me!!"
Gyokko had already realized that he had been beheaded. Waves of searing pain reached straight into his soul from the wound, making him especially furious.
So much so that, even knowing he was about to die, he still controlled his one remaining claw and swiped at the back not far away, intent on delivering one final strike.
He knew that, with a human's fragile body, a hit from this attack would surely kill his opponent.
