Only after Mitsuri's emotions had settled did she let go of Kanzaki Kumo.
With their previous hug behind her, Mitsuri was still a little shy this time, but she did not turn straight into a steam princess. Her pretty face merely flushed faintly, and for a while, she hardly dared meet Kanzaki Kumo's eyes.
"Mitsuri, I bought you some Sakura Mochi." Kanzaki Kumo held the Sakura Mochi out before her.
"Whether you were angry with me or not, it was my fault for making you wait so long and leaving you upset for so long. I hope you'll accept this as an apology."
Mitsuri stared at the somewhat familiar box, momentarily dazed.
Seeing no response from Mitsuri, Kanzaki Kumo continued, "Of course, I know this little gift isn't enough to make up for the hurt you suffered. So if there's anything else you want, or anything you want to do, I'll fulfill your wishes as long as it's within my power."
"Ah, no, no! As long as Kanzaki-oniisan is willing to keep being my friend, I don't want anything else."
After checking the familiar packaging over and over, Mitsuri finally spoke with some embarrassment. "It's just... the Sakura Mochi you bought seems to come from my family's sweet shop..."
"Uh... huh?"
An enormous question mark appeared on Kanzaki Kumo's face.
He had bought the Sakura Mochi from the shop where Mitsuri had been when they first met, because he had bought some there before, and they really were delicious.
But now Mitsuri was telling him that her family owned the place.
That made things a little awkward.
So back when Mitsuri had been stuffing herself at that shop, besides liking sweets, had she also been serving as her family's shop mascot?
"It's all right. I really like your gift, Kanzaki-oniisan.
