More than half the bottle of red wine was gone.
Xu Shi had drunk two-thirds of it himself, while Xie Yanci had only had two glasses and was now slumped against the back of his chair, barely coherent.
His head tilted back, his gaze kept roaming over Xu Shi, so predatory that he looked ready to devour him whole.
He reached out and tugged gently at the hem of Xu Shi's shirt.
Xu Shi stood lazily in front of the table, still holding a glass of red wine in one hand, his eyes lowered slightly as he smiled at the adorably drunk Xie Yanci.
His cool fingertips brushed lightly against the corner of Xie Yanci's eye. "Puppy, are you drunk already?"
Xie Yanci tilted his head, instinctively nuzzling Xu Shi's palm. "I had two glasses today."
He used to get drunk after just one glass. Today, he'd had two-a little more than before.
He hoped his wife would praise him.
Meeting those eyes begging for praise, Xu Shi burst out laughing. "Well done! Very impressive!"
Not being able to drink was a good thing.
Xu Shi didn't like drunks.
Besides, he'd discovered that Xie Yanci was pretty cute when he was drunk.
Xie Yanci lowered his head, a few muffled chuckles spilling from his throat.
He stood, took the glass of red wine from Xu Shi's hand, and drained it in one gulp. "Baby, isn't it time we did something?"
It really was late.
Xu Shi glanced sideways at the floor-to-ceiling windows. The curtains were already drawn. He instinctively looped his arms around Xie Yanci's neck and deliberately asked:
"Did what?"
He pretended not to understand, when he was actually playing hard to get.
A faint smile touched his lips. His eyes lowered slightly as he stared straight at Xie
