"Ding-"
The alarm rang at seven sharp.
"Mmm..."
Xu Shi reluctantly rolled over, rubbing his clean, delicate little face against the pillow.
He mumbled, "Honey, let me sleep for five more minutes~"
He would definitely get up in five minutes.
Xu Shi settled into a comfortable position, ready to sleep to his heart's content.
"Ding-"
The alarm blared wildly right beside his ear.
"Fuck!"
"Xie Yanci, I told you to turn off the alarm!"
Xu Shi's morning temper flared instantly. He grabbed the pillow in his arms and hurled it hard at the spot beside him.
"..."
There seemed to be no one there.
Xu Shi opened his eyes and looked at the empty space beside him, as though no one had ever been there.
It felt like he had had an exceptionally vivid dream.
The searing warmth of Xie Yanci's body seemed to linger in the bedding. He always carried a faint, woody fir scent that put people at ease the moment they smelled it.
Xu Shi stared at the empty bed for a long time. For some reason, a tear fell without warning.
It felt as though he had never had that person at all.
He could no longer tell whether it was a dream or reality.
There was clearly no great upheaval in his heart, and he knew he could see Xie Yanci with a single phone call, yet his tears kept falling uncontrollably.
Why did he feel this way?
Looking at the little pool of tears in his palm, Xu Shi grew a little dazed.
He only remembered dying from sheer joy after coming into a windfall, which was how he had transmigrated into this book.
As for his other memories, he had forgotten them all.
Had my life been bad before?
