Huo Xingye slipped an arm around him, adjusted the bed, and arranged the pillows.
Nan Zhou settled back against the headboard and looked at Gu Zheng. "When are you finally going to win my sister-in-law over, bro?"
Gu Zheng's face abruptly reddened. "Wh-what nonsense are you talking about! What sister-in-law? There's nothing going on. Don't ruin his reputation!"
"You've been single ever since I've known you. Thirty years. Even the kid next door is old enough to run errands now, and you're still alone." Nan Zhou held Huo Xingye's hand. "Wait any longer, and people will call you an old husband with a young wife."
"Nonsense! He's only seven years younger than me!" Gu Zheng argued.
A brief silence fell over the hospital room.
Nan Zhou grinned mischievously at Huo Xingye. "So the person he likes is twenty-three this year. Tsk, tsk, tsk. And he still says he's not robbing the cradle."
"By that logic, isn't Huo Xingye robbing the cradle too? Three years makes a generation gap. You've got a whole gap between you," Gu Zheng said.
"That's different." Right in front of Gu Zheng, whose eyes widened, Nan Zhou kissed Huo Xingye's cheek. "I like him. But my sister-in-law might not like you yet."
Gu Zheng: "..."
Huo Xingye patted Nan Zhou's head. "All right, keep going and he'll fall apart."
"I don't need your fake sympathy! Besides, I'm not as fragile as you think. Without me, the Gu Family would've fallen apart long ago!"
Gu Zheng straightened his back, adjusted his collar, and continued, "The doctor said Nan Zhou could be discharged once he woke up. I'll have Butler Zhao come pack his things in a bit. He's coming home with me."
