Whether Nan Zhou wanted to or not, he had to go work at the bar. The production team had arranged it beforehand as part of his assigned persona.
Presumably to maintain their personas, the two of them headed to the bar on the same two-wheeled electric scooter they had used that afternoon.
The bar where they worked was farther away than the vegetable market. It took Nan Zhou about forty minutes to get there.
The bar manager, whom the production team had contacted in advance, waited at the back door. He explained their duties as he led them through the Employee Entrance to the Changing Room.
As the bar's bartender and server, Huo Xingye and Nan Zhou both needed to change into matching suits.
After handing them two sets of clothes, the manager left, leaving only Huo Xingye, Nan Zhou, and their cameraman.
Unlike his resistance to working, Nan Zhou had no objections to the uniform. By the time Huo Xingye noticed, he had already taken off his jacket and grabbed the hem of his sweater with both hands, about to pull it up.
He had nothing on underneath, exposing a stretch of pale, lean waist and abdomen.
Huo Xingye swiftly reached out and blocked the lens.
"Still filming?" His low, icy voice made the cameraman shudder and snap out of it. He quickly lowered the camera and retreated outside.
The door was closed from the inside.
[His voice was so cold. Our wife almost got filmed changing. Is Brother Ye angry?]
[Tsk, tsk, tsk. Read into that, everyone. Really read into it.]
[That tiny waist that flashed past just now-does anyone get me? So sexy!]
[Cameraman, be brave! Push that door open and film! I want to see Huo Xingye take his clothes off!!! Screaming!!!]
[Hiss~ A cramped room, an alpha and omega changing alone together. I'm having thoughts.]
Standing just inside the door, Huo Xingye listened to the rustling less than two meters behind him, his gaze dark. He did not turn around right away, not until Nan Zhou spoke. "Aren't you changing?"
"Are you done?" he asked.
"Almost," Nan Zhou replied.
Huo Xingye turned around. His breath abruptly caught, and his pupils suddenly contracted.
Facing him in front of the Locker, Nan Zhou held his open waistband in both hands, looking utterly innocent.
He had replaced his sweater with a white shirt, but had only just fastened the bottom two buttons, leaving a broad expanse of skin exposed from his neckline down to his chest.
Perhaps his sweater had generated static; his hair was a little mussed. Paired with the puzzlement in his clear eyes, it made his small face look even more innocent and docile.
Huo Xingye quickly turned his head away, his Adam's apple bobbing twice despite himself.
He closed his eyes and took two deep breaths before squeezing two low words from his throat. "Hold on."
"Oh." Nan Zhou nodded and continued what he was doing.
A few seconds later, he belatedly realized-was Huo Xingye trying to avoid anything improper?
Was that necessary? They were both men. They both had all the same parts.
Besides, he hadn't just seen him before. He'd touched and kissed him, too.
After thinking it over, he asked, "Then can I watch in a minute?"
"What?"
The changing room fell silent for a few seconds.
A moment later, Huo Xingye gave a short laugh.
"As you like."
There was a little helplessness in it, along with a trace of indulgence.
Although the cameraman had gone outside, their microphones were still on, and the livestream chat was buzzing.
[Watch what? What are you watching?! My little face is full of filthy thoughts.]
[What dirty stuff are you two getting up to behind our backs?! What is there that a distinguished VIP like me can't watch?]
[(crawling forward with a twisted body)(roaring)(grimacing)(trying to squeeze into the screen)(pushing forward)(failing and collapsing)(roaring)(trying again)]
[They must be looking at a glow-in-the-dark watch!]
Huo Xingye changed much faster than Nan Zhou.
At first, Nan Zhou leaned leisurely against the wall and watched, but the longer he watched, the more he felt the temperature in the room rising.
Whether it was his physique, his movements, or the fleeting expressions on his face, everything made Nan Zhou feel as though the man before him was a delicious feast, tempting him relentlessly.
Finally, when Huo Xingye undid his belt buckle, he awkwardly looked away, his gaze drifting to a picture on the wall.
The cheeky chibi figure in the picture was saying, "I've got no honey and no money, just a whole lot of funny."
Ouch. That hit close to home.
This little movement did not escape Huo Xingye's notice. His lips curved, and he quickly finished changing his trousers.
After waiting idly outside for quite a while, the cameraman finally saw the door open from within.
He immediately raised his camera and aimed it at the doorway.
The next second, Huo Xingye appeared on-screen in a shirt, dress trousers, and a tie. His black waistcoat outlined his chest and waist to extremely pleasing effect.
Facing the camera, he lifted his eyelids slightly. The powerful presence he exuded in that instant, together with his handsome, flawless features, hit the viewers head-on with striking impact.
[Th-this is way too handsome!!!!]
[Someone told me nothing was perfect. I pointed at the screen and shouted that my idol was perfect!]
[Hahahahaha, is Nan Zhou's bow tie crooked?]
[What did you two do? How come thirteen minutes have passed and Nan Zhou's clothes still aren't straightened out?]
[What can anyone do in thirteen minutes? Are you insulting my Brother Ye?]
Standing behind the cameraman, the manager's eyes also lit up when he saw their outfits. "You two are definitely the most handsome employees in our bar," he praised.
"Do you have any ducks?" Nan Zhou asked out of nowhere.
"What?" The question left the manager bewildered.
Coming to his senses, he hurriedly waved his hands, declaring emphatically, "No, no, absolutely not! Our bar strictly obeys the law."
Nan Zhou sighed. "I was going to take a roast duck home after work. I smelled it on the way here. It smelled really good."
The manager: "..."
In this city, Soul Bar was less a bar than a rather renowned Livehouse.
Besides serving drinks, the bar had a resident band and frequently invited all kinds of musicians to perform. Many well-known music producers, music critics, and talent scouts occasionally came here as well.
People came to Soul not only for entertainment, but also in hopes of chance encounters, so every night, the place was packed and bustling.
Wearing a mask, Huo Xingye stood behind the bar mixing drinks with practiced skill. Even the experienced bartender the production team had arranged to train and assist him was astonished.
Under cover of the dim lighting and his mask, who would have imagined that the bartender standing behind the counter at that moment was the famous Huo Xingye himself?
A man in a gray T-shirt and black-rimmed glasses sat down at the bar and struck up a conversation with Huo Xingye.
"I was watching from over there for ages. I thought I was seeing things. Then I saw everyone in the industry saying you were on some variety show, working at a bar. That was when I was sure."
Had Lu Zhou and Jiang Zhen been there, they would have recognized him immediately.
Xiao Sheng, vice president of Shengle Entertainment, was a major figure in the music industry, with many well-known singers and bands signed under him.
