If You Don't Come Sleep Here, I Feel Uncomfortable

Lu Zhou shot upright in bed, his gaze so searing it almost burned through his phone screen.

He recognized every word in the message Nan Zhou had sent him, but strung together, not a single sentence made sense to him.

What did that mean? Nan Zhou and Huo Xingye had slept together?!

No, no, no, he was talking about hyping up their pairing!

What did he mean by getting into bed? What were they planning to do on the show?!

The sheer flood of information left Lu Zhou's already deficient brain utterly blank. Without thinking, acting purely on instinct, he pressed his ear to the wall.

He remembered that only a wall separated his room from Nan Zhou and Huo Xingye's apartment.

Swallowing, torn between fearing he wouldn't hear anything and fearing he would, Lu Zhou held his breath and listened for quite a while.

He really was just trying to piss me off!

He hadn't heard a thing.

Leaning against the wall, Lu Zhou regretted his brainless behavior. He brought his phone back in front of him and rapidly tapped out a message to Nan Zhou.

[Since you like me, why can't you trust me? I'm doing all this for everyone's sake.]

Once the message was sent, a little spinning circle appeared on its left.

Then a red exclamation mark appeared. "Your message was sent but rejected by the recipient."

Lu Zhou was completely stunned.

Nan Zhou had blocked him?!

The hair dryer hummed through the small, quiet apartment at midnight.

Slender fingers and warm air passed through his damp hair, soothing Nan Zhou, who was already utterly sleepy, into closing his eyes.

He locked his phone and casually tossed it onto the couch.

A monkey show might be entertaining, but watching too much hurt the eyes.

The man before him was still the best thing to look at. Not only was he handsome, he could practically be called flawless from all 365 degrees, perfectly matching every fantasy Nan Zhou had about a future partner, as though he had been tailor-made for him.

But Nan Zhou firmly believed that when something was too unusual, something had to be wrong.

Windfalls like this often came with deadly traps.

Huo Xingye soon finished drying Nan Zhou's hair. Watching him lie motionless on the couch with his eyes closed, he chuckled softly.

"If you're sleepy, go sleep in bed."

Nan Zhou didn't answer, remaining in the same position.

As the youngest Best Actor in the industry, Huo Xingye wasn't fooled in the slightest by Nan Zhou's clumsy performance.

But Huo Xingye didn't expose him. Instead, he bent down, slipped his hands between Nan Zhou and the couch, and exerted a little strength to scoop him up into his arms.

The instant his body left the couch, Nan Zhou's eyelids fluttered rapidly, but he never opened them.

Huo Xingye crossed the tiny apartment in a few long-legged strides and reached the bed. Bending down, he gently laid the person in his arms on it, then pulled the covers over him.

"Good night."

As his low, rich voice faded, Huo Xingye turned and walked over to the camera, covering the lens with a slap of the towel Nan Zhou had used to dry his hair.

[Huo Xingye, what are you doing!!!]

[Damn it, is there anything a premium member like me isn't allowed to watch?]

[You're blocking our view because you're planning to do something naughty to your wife, aren't you!]

[These two are already hugging and cuddling with the camera uncovered. I can't even imagine what'll happen with it covered!]

[Xingye, isn't this a lousy way to treat your die-hard fans?]

But then Huo Xingye did something even lousier: he switched off both their microphones, and the live comments filled with question marks.

After turning off the lights, Huo Xingye lay down on the couch.

The narrow couch couldn't possibly accommodate the tall Alpha. Even with his long legs resting on the armrest, a large stretch still hung unsupported beyond it.

In the darkness, Nan Zhou stole a glance, a little irritation rising inside him.

He brought this on himself.

I said I'd take the couch and he'd take the bed.

Nan Zhou rolled over, deciding to let others live with their own choices. Out of sight, out of mind.

A faint, pleasant scent lingered in the air, making his already exhausted, sleepy body even heavier, as though he would slip into a dream the very next second.

The sleep troubles that had plagued him for quite some time were soothed by that warm, comforting scent. Nan Zhou felt so comfortable that he nuzzled his pillow.

The scent seemed a little stronger over on the couch.

Something rose uncontrollably from deep inside him.

Unlike his earlier discomfort, it was a more secret longing, a longing to draw closer, to touch, to have his entire body enveloped in that warm, dry scent.

"No Alpha would agree to sleep apart from his own Omega after marking him!"

Hao Jia's words sprang into his mind like an incantation.

In the darkness, Nan Zhou's eyes snapped open.

How credible was that claim?

Huo Xingye didn't seem to mind at all!

He was the one addicted to that scent, as though he'd taken some illegal drug.

Nan Zhou wanted to get his phone and message Hao Jia on WeChat to ask, but the moment he moved, he suddenly remembered that he'd tossed his phone onto the couch.

When it rained, it really poured.

Then again, Hao Jia was a Beta, wasn't he? A Beta commenting on Alphas and Omegas felt wrong however you looked at it, like theory with no foundation in practice.

Nan Zhou rolled over again.

"We're acting as a couple right now, aren't we?" he asked.

After he spoke, a long while passed in the silent room before Huo Xingye's answer came from the couch. "Yes."

"Since we're a couple, it'd look perfectly normal to other people if we slept together, right?" With that, Nan Zhou shifted toward the wall and patted the space he'd cleared in front of himself. "Come sleep here."

Huo Xingye didn't move.

"You can't be comfortable sleeping like that. It's not like we haven't slept together before. Hurry up. At this rate, it'll be dawn before we know it."

Hao Jia, that stupid B. A B's theories about Alphas and Omegas really were bullshit!

Seeing that Huo Xingye still hadn't moved, Nan Zhou finally brought out his trump card, taking a thousand points of damage himself to deal eight hundred to the enemy.

"If you don't come sleep here, I feel uncomfortable."

The person on the couch finally moved. Huo Xingye rose and walked toward the bed.

Whether the darkness heightened his presence or it was something else, every step he took, accompanied by that increasingly rich, soothing, warm, dry scent, struck Nan Zhou's heart like the beat of a drum.

Finally, that scent and its owner arrived at the bedside, enveloping him from above.

Nan Zhou tingled all over, as though immersed in comfortably warm water.

"You smell so good." As he spoke, he didn't notice the slight rasp in his own voice at all.

Huo Xingye didn't answer. He held his gaze in the darkness for a while before lifting the covers and getting into bed.

With another person in it, the narrow bed felt even more cramped. The two of them were practically pressed together.

Nan Zhou could even hear his own heart pounding like a drum.

Their scents mingled, like the warm, sweet aroma of chestnuts roasting in a fireplace on a snowy night.

Nan Zhou sighed and closed his eyes in contentment.

Suddenly, Huo Xingye's low voice sounded beside his ear. "That day, were you feeling really bad?"
