"Heading back alone, Nian'an?" It was Yang Manhua, looking at him with a warm smile.
Gu Nian'an paused for a few seconds, then shook his head. "I'm waiting for a friend."
Yang Manhua changed the subject. "Sorry if I offended you on the show earlier. Please don't take it to heart." With that, she looked at the young man apologetically.
Gu Nian'an paused briefly at her words, then smiled faintly and shook his head. "It's fine. It's your job, after all. Besides, I didn't think there was anything wrong with those questions."
After all, as a talk show host, Yang Manhua was essentially a reporter too. Those questions were simply what the audience wanted to know, so why should he blame someone who did this for a living?
Seeing that the look in his eyes seemed genuine, Yang Manhua suddenly smiled. "Before I came, Bai Wei told me not to give you too hard a time. Now I finally understand why she said that."
Gu Nian'an was a little taken aback. Before coming, he had known that Yang Manhua asked tricky questions and was difficult to deal with, so during the show, he had actually felt that her reputation was rather exaggerated.
He hadn't expected Ji Baiwei to have spoken to her privately. Warmth welled up in his heart, and he dipped his head slightly in thanks.
Seeing the faint light rising in Gu Nian'an's eyes, Yang Manhua couldn't help curling her lips into a smile. The young man's personality really did match his appearance.
"Nian'an."
A man's voice suddenly rang out. They both turned toward it and saw Fu Xiuyuan approaching against the light, carrying a bag.
Gu Nian'an stared at him blankly, rubbing his fingers together awkwardly. He wanted to say something but didn't know how to begin.
