"An'an!"
An anxious male voice reached his ears, pulling him out of his dream. Gu Nian'an opened his eyes drowsily.
Fu Xiuyuan was sitting on the floor with him, soaked all over, his face filled with panic and lingering fear. Even the fingertips cupping his cheeks trembled uncontrollably.
Gu Nian'an slowly opened his eyes and tilted his head in confusion, seemingly unaware of what had happened. A breeze blew in through the window, making his body shudder uncontrollably.
The boy was drenched, his eyes slightly narrowed. He instinctively clutched the man's collar, as though seeking warmth.
Only then did Fu Xiuyuan come out of his terror. He took off his own soaked clothes, then picked up a towel from nearby and dried the water from the boy's body.
He scooped the boy up and carried him back to the bedroom, draping a set of pajamas over him.
He had heard from the driver early on that Gu Nian'an had returned, but after coming home and searching the house, he had found no sign of him. Calling out to him had brought no response either.
