Everyone throughout Vought International feared Homelander like a tiger.
Edgar alone had never thought much of this strongest of Supes. Holding the corporation's highest authority, he kept a firm grip on Homelander's lifeline.
The gentle smile on Homelander's face shattered in an instant. Dark clouds churned in his eyes, and his tone abruptly sharpened, heavy with intimidation.
"Edgar, you'd better remember your place! I'm the captain of the Seven!"
Edgar nodded and calmly set his wineglass on a nearby table. His expression remained placid, without the slightest ripple.
"I will always respect your position as captain of the Seven."
The reassurance lacked any sincerity. If anything, it sounded like deliberate mockery.
At this, Homelander's anger burned hotter. He stepped forward and loomed over Edgar, unleashing the full weight of his overwhelming presence.
"Really? Because I don't feel any respect from you at all. Even Madelyn never dared say things like that or do things like this to my face!"
Faced with Homelander's crushing presence, Edgar's expression remained unchanged. He raised his eyes to meet the brutality in Homelander's gaze, each word clear and striking right where it hurt.
"You have no right to bring up Madelyn. Do you think I don't know how she really died?"
Homelander stiffened, his pupils contracting slightly. His gaze instantly grew shifty and evasive, most of his imposing presence abruptly crumbling. His voice unconsciously weakened as well.
"I don't know what nonsense you're talking about. Madelyn was blown up by that terrorist Butcher!"
Edgar pressed him relentlessly, his presence completely overwhelming the flustered Homelander. His voice was cold and forceful as he publicly tore away his facade.
"Then let me remind you. You were there the night Madelyn was murdered. A mighty superhero, a savior, watched an ordinary man blow up the Vice President's home,
