"Not dead?"
Lian Youming's eyes widened, and he drew a deep breath at what he saw.
Who was this man surnamed Chen?
He had once been Number One Under Heaven.
And he might not be dead.
If that was true, it would be utterly astonishing.
How had the other party reached that judgment?
His gaze shifted to the photographs showing the three antique paintings.
"Could it be that map? Could the location on it be where that former Number One lies sleeping?"
Lian Youming swiftly scanned the letters on the table, hoping to find other useful clues.
They were called letters, but most contained only a few scattered words, more like orders.
Their contents were all manner of strange things, too.
They included searches for rare natural treasures, miraculous medicines, and some prescriptions involving old medicine.
But most concerned news from the martial world.
There was information on Xue Hen, on himself, on Gong Wuer, and on everything that had happened during this period.
There was even news about the Five Elders of the Mountain Guardians, including Eyeless Monk, whom Junk King had killed, and Mr. Corpse up north. "The Five Elders of the Mountain Guardians... Eyeless Monk, Mr. Corpse, White Bone Daoist, One-Eyed Elder, God of Tai Sui!"
The more Lian Youming looked at those bizarre names, the deeper his brow furrowed.
Eyeless Monk was now dead. Judging by this information alone, apart from Mr. Corpse, who had already appeared, the other three remaining elders seemed to be in the country. If he was right, once his identity was exposed, these were probably the people he would face.
And the person behind all this had quite extraordinary connections.
Suddenly, Lian Youming's eyes flashed. He had discovered a rather mysterious seal on one letter, with three faint characters on it.
